As a Telephone Fundraiser, you will represent a range of charities and non-profits over the phone. You will call across supporter acquisition, welcome calls, cross-sell, membership, legacy fundraising campaigns and more. You will be speaking with existing supporters who have previously donated or shown an interest in supporting the charities work, no ‘cold calling’ and will be making a strong fundraising ask on a charity’s behalf.
To be considered for this role, you will have strong background in a sales-based role, interpersonal skills transferable to telephone conversations, a confident and clear speaking voice, and the ability to follow a structure (call guide). You will also be resilient, able to handle objection, empathic and have the ability to perform to a target based working environment.
This is fully remote role, with a choice of working hours between 17.5 – 35 hours per week, shift patterns include afternoon and evenings, 12:00-4:00pm or 4:00- 8:30pm. Please only apply if you are available to start ASAP or have no more than a 1 weeks’ notice period.

Part 1: Role Purpose:
This role aims to offer financial and operations management support to Great Lakes and Central Africa Region programs, focusing majorly on Street Child Programmes in DRC. The role reports to both Great Lakes and Central Africa Regional Representative and Head of Finance in Africa.
The role holds a senior position within the Street Central Africa Region team and will oversee Street Child – financial and operational setup to support operationalizing all program/project implementation in full compliance with donors’ and SC operational standards. The role will also provide financial support to programs across Great Lakes and Central Africa and partner organizations to support the development and implementation of robust financial management and reporting systems and assess and strengthen the control environment, financial management, grant management, and reporting. It will be building the finance and grants management capacity of Street Child staff and partners. A vital part of this is facilitating communication between Programmes and Finance staff.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
Finance Management:
- Supervise the country's standard financial systems establishment and maintenance in line with STREET-CHILD Financial Policy and Procedures, donor and local legislation requirements to provide appropriate levels of security and controls over the organization's resources and operations across the country to ensure success, consistency, and compliance.
- Develop and update quarterly the country's Master Budget to ensure that all funding gaps are covered.
- Provide strong leadership to the Finance and Admin team in all offices, whether with direct line management or technical, ensuring competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.
- Provide financial advice to the budget holders and local partners, ensure adequate support is provided to the program, and ensure the alignment of resource allocations with organizational priorities at the budgeting and implementation stages.
- Ensure that monthly accounting closure is timely, accurate, and compliant with STREET-CHILD financial policies and procedures for all Street-Child field offices and perform the bank reconciliation as appropriate.
- Using the Street-Child accounting system, produce the Budget Vs.—actuals for internal use by the country team and budget holders on a monthly basis.
- Oversee all financial and logistical requests made by the technical team and ensure they are in line with the Street-Child guidelines (Advance request, travel request, leave request, Toil request).
- Lead on applying Street-Child anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy and ensure all DRC staff understand and adhere to it, including Zero tolerance.
- Ensure regular financial and operational checks are performed for each local partner involved in Street-Child project implementation.
- Elaborate, review, and update Finance Standard Operating Procedures for STREET-CHILD DRC and across the Central and Great Lakes region as required and relevant.
- Conduct spot checks on transactions be responsible for maintaining transparency and accountability within finance and administration.
- Build financial management capacity for local partners in the region.
Grant Management and Budget proposal:
- Collaborating with other managers during proposal development, lead on the costing in proposal writing.
- Produce grant financial reports for donors in their formats.
- With the Senior Programme Manager, co-lead monthly grants review meetings involving all active partners.
- Manage the budget review, cost extension, realignment, and alert on any potential risk.
- Ensure appropriate measures are taken to address audit findings and recommendations associated with all grants.
- Conduct grant management training for local partners and provide orientation on finance matters and tools to non-finance staff.
Operations Oversight:
- Lead all aspects of HR, administration, procurement and logistics in the region
- Adequately manage internal and external HR and admin risks, highlight & resolve relevant issues with national institutions with support from the country leadership team (Taxes, labour inspection).
- Maintain daily responsibility for local staff issues, i.e., contracts, payroll, job descriptions, salary scales, leave, and benefit in support of the HR and Admin Assistant.
- Facilitate frequent staff meetings, and update the staff on the new Street-Child guidelines, regulations, etc.
- Lead the outsourcing of some services such as staff medical insurance, legal issues and the adherence to national labour laws, taxation systems and rules, social security, and insurance rules, etc.
- Lead in running procurement, ensuring value for money and overseeing all contracts which are placed with suppliers
- Ensure that all necessary agreements, permits, and licenses for Street-Child operations in DRC are in place, and keep updated on national rules and regulations pertaining to Street-Child activities.
- Lead staff adherence to all processes and ensure strict and contextualized application across the DRC program.
- Ensure proper asset management by initiating tools and control systems, including tagging.
Part 3: Person Specification
Attributes Essential Desirable
Education / Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or higher.
- Recognised Accountancy Qualification.
- Degree in International Business Administration, finance or related field; or attendance at specific relevant training courses.
Experience and Knowledge:
- 6 years post qualification experience.
- Experience of implementing internal controls and finance procedures.
- Experience of managing multi donor grants and good knowledge of donor compliance rules and requirements – in particular working with ECHO, BHA, EU, SIDA, NMFA, FCDO, USAID, UNICEF, ECW, WFP, etc.
- Knowledge of development issues and concepts.
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of finance & logistics policy within non-governmental organizations.
- Knowledge of computer applications and accounting software’s.
- Excellent relationship building skills, with an ability to skilfully navigate both national and international stakeholders.
- Knowledge of French, Swahili or other relevant local languages.
Other:
- Strong interpersonal, management and team work skills.
- Ability to influence change in teams not directly managed.
- A self-starter, capable of working independently and flexibly to a high level.
- Fluent English –written and spoken.

Main purpose and scope of Role
This role will play key to engaging with and supporting PTAs across the region, as well as a variety of stakeholders such as schools, parent groups, local authorities, potential sponsors or supporters and other organisations as our suite of programmes grows. This role initially focuses on the following, but is subject to change as programmes are launched or evolved:
PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.
- Supporting PTAs through leadership transition to minimise PTAs closing unnecessarily.
- Organising gatherings of PTAs to enhance the PTA community.
- Providing training and awareness sessions for PTAs.
- Providing community support to PTAs during peak activity periods online or by phone.
- Helping schools establish PTAs and supporting them during their first year through our new PTA Launchpad programme.
- Hosting and co-ordinating virtual webinars/meetings to demonstrate the value of PTA membership and the support available.
Parent Programme
- Raising awareness of Parentkind’s growing programme of support for parents, directly or indirectly through schools or other partners.
- Building relationships with parent groups to support engagement with our growing suite of parent support opportunities.
- Organising events for parents as part of our Parent Programme.
- Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.
Other Programmes/Services
- Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.

- Feeding into programme design.
Wider Stakeholder Engagement:
- Attending appropriate conferences and educational meetings across the region.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fundraising Manager to implement the fundraising strategy for an important charity.
Position: Fundraising Manager

About the role:
The purpose of the Fundraising Manager’s role is to develop the role and fundraising strategy of the organisation. You will support the CEO with creating the role, strategy, systems, and activities of income generation for the organisation. You will lead in securing funds from trusts and foundations through grant applications and develop the individual giving campaign as well as leading the growth and future development of new income streams from individuals, corporate partnerships, and other sources. The Role
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will generate income and impact for the Stroke Association by identifying and winning new partnerships with businesses that have an affinity to our cause.
There will also be an opportunity to manage and uplift some of our existing partnerships, helping to ensure that we’re optimising every opportunity with our warmest supporters, driving greater engagement, commitment and income.
This role will be predominantly focused on business development and will involve regular travel. Key responsibilities will include:
· Securing individual income target and contribute to the overall team target
· To research companies and develop proposals, applications, and pitches
· To work with the Senior Corporate Manager to establish a clear and prioritised list of target companies whose values and objectives align with the Stroke Association’s, ensuring timely and appropriate approaches with the support of relevant departments.
· Potential to personally manage partnerships once business has been secured, with the possibility of taking on management of existing partnerships to help grow and uplift the value they deliver.
· To sell in fundraising products to potential partners, often on a cold calling basis, and to contribute creative fundraising ideas to help the Corporate Partnerships team develop new fundraising product ideas for proposals, applications and pitches
About You
We need someone with creativity and flair. Someone who can marshal emotions, facts and figures to help us put stroke on the map. An ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders to articulate the value of corporate partnerships to all parties will be crucial.
You will have a proven track record of:
· Securing and/or managing partnerships (in the charitable or private sector) worth £6-figure+ sums across a variety of income streams e.g. strategic, Charity of the Year, sponsorship
· Making successful cold approaches to potential supporters/clients
· Partnership delivery including experience of deepening and broadening partnerships to increase their meaningfulness and longevity

Goals4Girls, a pioneering charity in girls & young women's football and educational development, is seeking a new Fundraising Specialist as the charity enters an exciting new phase in its service delivery and growth plan. The focus for 2024 and beyond is on expanding and financing the delivery of our new social prescribing & football programme strategy. This will focus on developing new corporate partnerships & community engagement alongside embedding the G4G fundraising strategy across our operational structures. The postholder will cultivate and develop strong relationships with potential donors, HNW individuals, statutory bodies, foundations & trusts.
This role offers an amazing opportunity to shape and lead our fundraising strategy, contributing significantly to the growth of our School Development Programme and Football Development Centres. The post holder will work with the Chief Executive Officer and the operational team to implement an income diversification strategy which supports the work of G4G through securing unrestricted and restricted income streams. The successful postholder will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations and best practices for fundraising in accordance with the Charity Commission and relevant fundraising regulators.
This role would suit an allrounder with experience of developing corporate charity partnerships preferably from a sports fundraising/marketing background, grant applications and income generation activities. The postholder will need to be passionate about raising funds to help break barriers & increase access to girls' football. Must be organised, possess great social communication skills, be flexible, a great problem solver, use their own initiative and be a strong team player.
