RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will develop and implement operational policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

• You will work closely with our partner organisations who are using the Big Green Heart model, ensuring that the high standards and values of our teaching are maintained.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester Dioceses are working towards reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and to incorporate sustainable working practices across all its operations. Head of Property
Canterbury, Kent

The Head of Property is a crucial and pivotal role at the Diocese, as you will lead the strategic management of the Diocese’s assets, taking responsibility for maximising income and capital returns from assets, including property development on investment land and buildings.

Reporting to the Diocesan Secretary, you will oversee the management of the Diocese’s housing and the Glebe estate. You will ensure good quality clergy accommodation through strategic maintenance and planned enhancements, along with the sale, purchase and development of housing stock and glebe land as required.

Managing the Property Services Team, which oversees the management of all clergy and other housing within the Diocese, you will ensure maintenance and improvements are performed within agreed timeframes and budgets and provide an excellent and friendly service to clergy and their household. In addition, you will ensure maximised rental income from vacant housing and glebe land which is a key income stream for the Diocese.

As Head of Property, you will offer support to parishes and protect their interests by advising on decision making regarding their buildings, with a particular focus on enhancing utilisation and value, especially for church halls. You will also represent, protect and advance the interests of PCCs, Incumbents and Churchwardens, by partnering with them to provide high-level advice to parishes on the effective management of property matters, particularly in cases where the Diocese acts as custodian trustee on their behalf.

As a key member of the Diocesan Office and Senior Management Team (SMT), Diocesan Finance & Assets Committee, Diocesan Advisory Committee and Property Advisory Group, you will manage the property budget, taking part in budget reviews and budget setting in partnership with the Director of Finance and Finance & Assets Committee.

Professionally qualified with a relevant qualification and with significant demonstrable post qualification experience in a similar role, perhaps as a surveyor, you should have proven leadership experience with a focus on strategic property development and resource planning.

With experience of working in the property sector, ideally in asset management, residential property management and landlord and tenant relations, you should have a track record of driving maximum return from property and/or land assets, including experience of property disposals and purchases. Able to maximise  income, you should also be adept at planning, managing and reviewing substantial budgets and exercising strict financial controls in a property environment.

Sympathetic to the overall Christian mission of the Church of England, including the Diocese’s schools, church communities and buildings, you should be prepared and able to travel regularly throughout the Diocese.

Previous experience with Charities or Not-for-Profit organisations is desirable but not essential.

The Housing and Land assets of the Diocese of Canterbury comprises operational and investment properties, almost all of which consist of ministry housing stock and a small amount of Glebe Land. Assets include circa 170 parsonage houses, the majority of which are occupied by clergy, establishing a unique relationship between the Diocese and church leaders. A minority of the stock (around 50 properties) which are intended for ministry but not currently used, generate substantial rental income. Notably, recent years have seen the move to ensure that we have the right properties in the right places for ministry as well as exploring development opportunities on existing properties that are due to be reviewed, sold or replaced.

We are a multi-award-winning, creative, and innovative organisation, and the Database Officer is a role at Al-Khair Foundation, sitting within the Database team and delivering on a range of database tasks and processes utilising our Salesforce database. We’re looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of database systems and who understands their importance to organisations like Al-Khair Foundation. We seek someone who is naturally process-driven and has a great eye for detail. You will be responsible for specific monthly processes, such as organisation income reconciliation and ongoing data uploads and cleansing for the Fundraising teams. You will also become a champion for Salesforce and understand the importance of CRM to help Al-Khair Foundation achieve our goals and provide a better service to our donors, supporters, and participants.

Your Role

Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.

You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.

Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.

Your Responsibilities

• Delivering the monthly data reconciliation and income reconciliation processes, which include downloading and uploading data files.
• Supporting the Fundraising teams with their monthly income recording and reconciliation.
• Liaising with external agencies and the Finance team.
• Checking for and correcting inaccuracies and updating supporter records.
• Running reports for the Fundraising and Finance teams.
• Maintaining and carrying out regular database processes, including data cleansing.
• Supporting the Database Coordinator and the Senior Data Manager to encourage best-practice use of the database across the organisation, including assisting with onboarding and new user training and being on hand for day-to-day technical support when the Database Coordinator is unavailable.
• Working with external partners (i.e., telemarketing agencies) to ensure the successful and smooth transition of data onto the database.
• Spotting and reporting database glitches and problems.
• Supporting with the ticketing system as a second point of contact in the Database team.
• Contributing to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant with Al-Khair Foundation’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

About the role:

As a Political Advocacy Officer, your role will be to work with policy and programmatic experts to help influence government, parliamentary and sector targets, coordinate events, and play a part in mobilising World Vision’s tens of thousands of UK supporters around our cause of standing with the world’s most vulnerable children. You’ll find yourself working with key political stakeholders, parliamentary networks, and committees.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Grow World Vision’s influence through developing and maintaining new relationships with key political contacts to achieve WVUK advocacy goals and support the implementation of the advocacy strategy.
• Monitor, analyse and brief key internal contacts/stakeholders on parliamentary and political activity relevant to WVUK with a particular focus on issues affecting most vulnerable children, faith and development, and fragile contexts.
• Lead WVUK’s engagement with parliamentary processes (such as WPQs, oral questions, etc.)
• Coordinate and lead the planning and delivery of political events (including annual political party conferences), supporting others where necessary.
• Carve out moments of political engagement of WVUK colleagues and support them through those engagements - including WVUK leadership and Policy and Programmes team.

· Represent WVUK in relevant sector forums to help develop strong relationships with peers.

· Work with the Media and Comms Strategy Manager to create, craft and place political opinion pieces and statements in targeted media.

· Work with policy experts and Policy and Campaigns Advisor to develop and disseminate advocacy positions to influence government, parliamentary, supporter, and sector targets.

· Work with the Media and Comms Strategy Manager and the Public Engagement Department to mobilise supporters around our cause of standing with the most vulnerable children.

About you:

We’re looking for someone with creativity and drive, who is confident engaging and building relationships with political decision-makers and networks.

You’ll need superb writing skills, good working knowledge of and/or interest in UK government and politics and be skilled in building relationships to influence change. Experience in international development, and/or UK politics is desired but not required. We are looking for a team player with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and grow. Most importantly, you must be passionate about advocating alongside and for children in the world’s poorest and most fragile places, and ensuring their needs and voices are heard at the highest level of government and parliament.

Key skills required for this role:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent level of thinking gained through experience.

· Good working knowledge of and interest in UK government and politics.

About the role:

As Facilities Assistant Manager, you will deliver the day-to-day provision of quality support services at World Vision UK, ensuring excellence and the best value to the organisation. You will ensure Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Compliance in our activities, training, and empowering colleagues as necessary. You will support remote workers and those at Hubs as per service standards. You will also provide full cover for the Central Services Manager in his/her absence (Operations and People).

The position is varied and interesting and, at any time during your working day you could be involved in duties from maintaining, checking, and receipting deliveries, ordering stock and stationery, managing meeting room and common area requirements, to supporting relationships with external users of our facilities and providing occasional admin support in respect of budgeting and invoice processing. The Role

• Ensure the Lambeth Palace estate is managed to the highest possible standard, ensuring all areas are well presented, safe, secure and compliant for all visitors, residents and staff alike.
• Review and regularly ensure all agreed security measures are in place and are communicated accordingly.
• Ensure all works undertaken across the Lambeth Palace estate are safely assessed and authorised before they are carried out.
• Review Health & Safety risk assessment submissions relating to operations and buildings, identifying and ensuring any corrective actions are completed.
• Work closely with the Hospitality Team to ensure events are assessed properly and robust H&S procedures are in place.
• Manage compliance and ensure best practice in the following areas: asbestos management, fire control management, water systems management, working at heights, electrical compliance, mechanical compliance, lifts, H&S inspections, etc.
• Ensure the proactive management of all hard and soft facilities tasks including, but not limited to office moves, PPM, reactive maintenance, office services and statutory compliance.
• Ensure that all planned and reactive maintenance are undertaken and completed within agreed schedules, frequencies, and statutory requirements.
• Implement and manage facilities contracts SLA's.
• Manage, query and follow up Facilities related tasks.
• Manage all utility contracts, council taxes and licenses.
• Line manage and give day-to-day supervision, direction and motivation to the Facilities Co-ordinators, Facilities administrator and Assistant.

• Ensure effective communication with the Archbishop's family, other residents, staff, Garden and Hospitality Teams on all work affecting the estate.
• Monitor and report on the Palace's environmental impact and initiating methods to improve sustainability.
• Assist the Head of Facilities & Steward in financial/budgetary management, including verifying and arranging payment of contractors' invoices and reporting on the annual budget.
• Where authority has been delegated, progress the work of the Head of Facilities & Steward in their absence and within agreed parameters, including out of hours working when required.

Qualifications:

• Hold NEBOSH General Certificate.
• IWFM qualification or equivalent experience.
