We're looking for an ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR for our care home in Dorking, Surrey. This role would suit someone with an upbeat personality and a genuine interest in supporting others.
Working 20-25 hours a week (negotiable) the role will also involve occasional travel (mileage paid).
Description Support with creating, planning and delivering activities, outings, and events. Reporting to the Wellbeing Manager.
Experience/qualifications Must be a car driver and hold a UK driving licence. No previous experience required as an Activity Coordinator but must be willing to learn and have a bubbly, friendly personality.
Working hours - 20-25 hours a week negotiable. The shifts are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with occasional, weekend ad hoc hours to support events in the care home.

About the role:
As a Recruitment/HR Administrator, you will be joining a small dedicated Recruitment team providing an effective and efficient recruitment service to meet the organisation’s resourcing and staffing needs. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries and requests to the team; providing a high level of customer service throughout the recruitment cycle.

About you:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment within HR and or recruitment with experience of working with and maintaining HR and Recruitment systems, including but not limited to ATS (applicant tracking system), payroll, HR and DBS services.
- A strong understanding of the key administrative tasks carried out within a recruitment process and of the legal requirements of the recruitment process and HR department.

About the Team
This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh.

A Peabody Caretaker is a varied and vital role. The Role
You’ll lead on the procurement, management and monitoring of different service contracts across our business, from grounds maintenance to tree surgery! You’ll be developing and implementing contract management frameworks, as well as undertaking regular performance reviews.
Customer involvement is a key part of this role, gaining their insights and support when services are procured, and ongoing monitoring, through inspections and customer satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for ensuring customers are kept informed about performance and variations to contracts, as well liaising with customers to resolve issues and complaints. You’ll also be responsible for providing performance related data for internal and external reporting.
Our ideal candidate?
- You’ll be a customer-focussed individual with experience of developing and managing stakeholder relationships to provide high standards of service.
- You’ll have knowledge of communal / estates management services and budgets, contract management frameworks and financial controls.
- You’ll also have experience of managing others, as well as monitoring performance.
- Having knowledge and exposure to ensuring and enhancing compliance is key to this role, as well as being keen to continuously improve services.
- Managing approximately 15 contracts at different stages of their lifecycle, you’ll be highly organised, and be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ideally, you will have a sound knowledge of service charges and how these are calculated, although this is not essential.

The team deliver a range of services, including training on housing and homelessness prevention, housing law consultancy, online resources and projects to support professionals working directly with people at risk of homelessness to get positive outcomes. The team covers all of England and works closely with teams including Learning and Organisational Development, Training and Support, Business Support, as well as our frontline Services and Legal Services.

Knowledge is power and we run over 1,600 training courses that attract 40,000 delegates each year. Your challenge, together with three other Operations Assistants will be to take responsibility for the administration and operational delivery of all of our courses, including face-to-face training and online via webinars and e-learning. We’ll rely on you to ensure that each course runs smoothly, all delegates and trainers have the instructions and information they need and that the highest level of customer care is provided. Monitoring a number of inboxes, dealing with customer enquiries and bookings, managing financial arrangements and booking speakers, trainers and venues – all are aspects of this vital and varied role.

Prospectus is pleased to be working with a homelessness charity based in Newham, whose mission is to provide support to people who find themselves sleeping rough in East London by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are now seeking a Maintenance Officer to join their team, on a temporary basis, initially for 1 month, with potential of extension.
As a Maintenance Officer you will carry out a range of general health & safety room checks, cleaning, building maintenance and caretaking tasks. The role will report to and support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and cleaning tasks. You will ensure a clean and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors by providing a repairing, maintenance cleaning service in order to keep the various buildings and grounds to the highest standard, whilst minimising the need for external contractors.
To be considered for this role, you will have experience of risk assessment or a health & safety qualification, as well as experience of building cleaning and maintenance, handyperson, plumbing or caretaking duties. You will also have a good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment, the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and be able to manage your own workload effectively and under pressure.

This is a pivotal role at the intersection of finance, development, and operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of critical organisational aspects. The Finance and Operations Lead will be involved in aspects of the charity’s financial operations, support grant and other fundraising and development initiatives, and optimising operational efficiency.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN:

Be the main point of contact for all finance and operational queries

Support the Chief Operating Officer with the management of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Manage the accounts payable function, credit card reconciliations and support effective cash management

Support the Head of People and Development to implement strategies on Fundraising, income and generation and report on funding from various sources, including grants, donors, and partnerships.

Manage day-to-day operations, including onboarding new staff, supporting the HR processes, and identifying areas for improvement.

Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and the Head of Development and People to align financial and development goals.

Identify ways to enhance operational processes to support the growth of the organisation.

Work closely with the executive team to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Work closely with the Head of Development & People to ensure all HR administration is covered promptly and efficiently - i.e: onboarding for newcomers, setting up laptops/ workstations; etc.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS:
Criteria:
- Proven experience in finance and operations in a charity/ Third sector (Essential)
- Experience in fundraising/development initiatives (Desirable)
- Is committed to the vision and mission of CHI (Essential)
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences (Essential)
- Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and an ability to work accurately, calmly and effectively (Essential)
- Good Excel skills with ability to create and manipulate pivot tables and use functions such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF. (Essential)
- Able to take a collaborative and proactive approach to operations, with a focus on continuous improvement. (Essential)
- Familiarity with financial regulations and a commitment to maintaining compliance. (Essential)

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:

Our Origin Tenants' Voices (OTV) project has been working in the Somers Town area of the London Borough of Camden with Origin Housing tenants for almost 2 years now.
Having obtained more Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding from the Council, we can now employ someone to work in the ward for 3 days instead of the original 2 per week, which will enable us actively engage with and listen to a wider variety of tenants about their concerns relating to their housing and the wider changes taking place in the area.
Please note: You will need to be based in/around London for this role as it mainly involves direct work within the Somers Town community.
Project management:
- To plan and deliver the project to all agreed deadlines, milestones and targets
- To manage the project budget in liaison with CFPT’s Assistant Organiser
- To record all relevant data and statistics relating to the project
- To monitor the performance of the project using the methods, format and frequency agreed with the funder
- To prepare project update reports for CFPT’s Management Committee as and when required
- To prepare project update reports as required by the funder
Relationship building and partnership working:
- To identify and build relationships with key contacts in the ward e.g. councillors, relevant Origin Housing staff, and other relevant individuals and groups/organisations
- To creatively consult with a wide variety of Origin tenants (with a particular focus on the younger and older ones) in different locations and settings to listen to and understand their views and concerns
Participating:
- To promote and raise awareness of the project both online and through a variety of meetings, events and activities in the ward

- To publicise the project and Origin tenants’ issues through the appropriate social media channels
Representing, informing, empowering and supporting:
- To identify the information, support and other needs of Origin tenants to enable them to effectively engage with their landlord and other organisations
- Along with Origin tenants, to meet with the landlord and representatives of other organisations active in the ward to put forward their views and concerns
- To support the running and sustainability of Somers Town Tenant’s Association
- To help and support tenants to advocate on behalf of themselves, and when required, to advocate on their behalf with the landlord regarding individual problems and issues.
Project sustainability:
- To have an awareness any relevant developments (internal/external) which could impact on work of the project
- To assist CFPT’s Organiser to identify and make applications to funders to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project, if this is required

About the role:
Care Ashore are seeking their next Chief Executive Officer to lead the charity into an exciting phase of growth and beyond.
The Chief Executive role will enable and lead their team to ensure the charity delivers an excellent supported housing and welfare service to current and future beneficiaries, in line with its values, vision, mission and strategy.
The role will also have oversight of the effective management and development of our 250+ acre Estate, maximising the many and varied commercial opportunities presented by the Estate to support the charity’s work.
The Chief Executive is responsible for the overall management of the charity, supported by the wider staff team and working with the Board of Trustees to help them meet their responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity.
About you:
As a business leader, with a heart for the delivering impact and value to Care Ashore’s beneficiaries, you’ll bring an entrepreneurial mindset that will enable you to develop the vision and spot both the strategic opportunities to support the future of the organisation, as well as any key operational needs across the physical estate.
Ideally you will have gained your leadership skills in a sector that has cross over with the work that Care Ashore delivers such as care or estate management, however, it’s not essential. Alternatively, you may be wishing to take your track record of successful business experience and make the move into the charity sector, transferring your skills to enable Care Ashore to deliver even greater impact for it’s current and future beneficiaries.
You will be an empathetic leader, with the ability to connect with people from a range of different backgrounds and circumstances as well as the Care Ashore estate itself.
Whilst as the CEO you will have overall oversight of the charity and strategic direction, you will also have the opportunity to build a team of experts around you to help deliver its charitable objectives.
What we can offer you:
Salary: Circa £75,000-£85,000 per annum, negotiable dependant on experience.
Location: Working within the beautiful Springbok Estate in Surrey. Due to the need to be connected to the people and the estate as a key part of this role, you would be required to spend most or all of your working week on site. There is potential to work a day a week from home as needed.
Hours of work: You will be contracted hours are 37.5 hours per week, with time off in lieu for any extended working wok that may be needed as part of fulfilling the duties for this role.
Pension: Care Ashore will provide a pension contribution of 3% of salary; the employee will contribute a minimum of 5% of salary.
Holiday: 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check at enhanced level.
