High Trees are seeking a dynamic and creative Community Capacity Building Officer to provide tailored development support to local organisations and manage projects relating to sector support. We will be developing and refining our offer to the local VCS sector over the coming year and expect this to lead to further new and exciting pieces of work.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to draw learning from our work and the work of our partnerships, to distil this learning for the benefit of others and to effectively motivate, coach and support others to develop their practice.

As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. The role will require attendance at our Community Meals projects in Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, with occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.

As Projects Officer: Neighbourhood Food Model you will lead on specific projects within the wider Neighbourhood Food Model. The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants, and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, and other organisations serving people in need. Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly and keyworkers. Last year, The Felix Kitchen made and distributed over 1.1 million meals to help people in need.

Purpose of the Job
Your role as a Packing Assistant is to assist the Head of Packing with the smooth running of the packing area of Felix’s Kitchen and the correct packing, storing and distribution of all meals and components. You also assist the Senior Chefs in the smooth running of the kitchen.
You are responsible for maintaining the quality and standards of the kitchen and ensuring that all meals and/or components of meals are packed correctly.
You assist other staff and volunteers when they need help, ensuring the smooth running of the operation.

As the Client Adviser your duties would include:
- Work as part of the national team, provide support to asylum seekers within all accommodation types across the UK

- Work within the specification of the contract with the Home Office, and on immigration related matters within the scope of the relevant OISC (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner) accreditation level and service
- Handle both inbound and outbound calls effectively, working in a timely way to ensure that clients are supported appropriately whilst ensuring that we can support as many people in need as possible
- Provide outreach and face to face support for clients and those with additional support needs, by appointment, at designated locations, as required
The experience and skills you need:
- Provided a service to clients over the phone whose first language is not always English
- Provided advice an information within an organization and working with people in sensitive and emotionally demanding situations
- Proven experience of delivering complex information to clients with and without interpreters
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Operational experience working to challenging performance KPI's
- Ability to work empathetically with people facing transition and uncertainty.

- The post holder may be required to travel to accommodation locations, Initial Accommodation, and contingency accommodation sites on an ad-hoc basis. Also attend other Migrant Helps offices to offer support where required.

We are the sister organisation of the FrameWorks Institute based in Washington, DC. We are both not-for-profit organisations.
This Operations Manager role will support our small, high-performing team; strengthen our partnerships and projects; and deliver a programme of events to share our work. You will work on a range of projects that seek to improve communications on issues like access to justice, achieving health equity, and securing decent and affordable homes for everyone.
We would like to appoint an Operations Manager to work 4 or 5 days a week with 2 days a week spent in person with the team at our central London office (by Waterloo station). Beyond this, there is scope for flexibility.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated to support the team and our partners to create social progress. They will have previous relevant work experience in operations, admin, events or finance type roles, and will be brilliantly well organised, proactive, confident, and happy to take on a broad range of tasks.
The full time salary is £33,000-£37,000 (depending on skills and experience) per annum plus benefits including 27 days of paid annual leave and 6% employer pension contributions.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation provides many areas of support to, and on behalf of, the Masonic community, including providing support for Freemasons and their families during times of adversity and uncertainty.
As a Grants Officer, you will assess applications from individuals and families for wide-ranging support including help with daily living costs, education, medical, mobility aids and breaks for carers. You’ll employ your analytical, written and numerical skills to complete financial assessments, schedule payments, prepare reports for decision makers and update the grants system.
A natural team player, you’ll support your colleagues and prioritise the needs of the team. As you’ll make your own funding decisions as well as participating in decision making panels and taking calls from applicants and stakeholders, you’ll have confidence, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to work within set guidelines.
You’ll receive the support of your peers, a Senior Grants Officer and your Team Leader. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, but what we value most are the right skills and a passion to make a difference.
MAIN DUTIES
- To process applications for assistance from individuals and families.
- To approve grants within delegated authority levels and to write reports for escalated decision making.
- To ensure the grants system records are accurate and up to date.
- To work with colleagues, stakeholders and external suppliers to provide an excellent service to applicants.
- To analyse sometimes complex financial and family situations, and interpret the scope of support that may be available to applicants.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Excellent customer service skills, including empathy and adaptability
- Exceptional written skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening skills, speaking with confidence and using appropriate language to suit varying audiences
- High level of numeracy to use, interpret and communicate the outcome of our financial assessments
- Ability to prioritise, organise and manage own workload whilst working as part of a larger team
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, internally and with stakeholders
- Outstanding attention to detail, including being able to identify weaknesses in own skills set and areas for personal development
- Ability to understand and apply policy
- IT skills, particularly MS Office
Desirable
- Experience of grant processing and/or assessment
- Good understanding of UK state benefits
