Job Description

Fixed term until 31st July 2018

Full time- 35 hours a week

The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. We work with 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training. We are committed to equality and valuing diversity.

This new post is part of the Birmingham and Solihull Youth Promise Plus (YPP) project which is a flagship employment pathway project funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Youth Employment Initiative (YEI).

The postholder will develop relationships with the local business community to secure employment, training and apprenticeships for young people aged 15-29 that are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).

You will have direct experience of building and managing relationships with external organisations to support young people. You will need a good understanding of the challenges faced by young people. The successful candidate will also need to be self-motivated and highly organised.

The Prince's Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check.

We prefer to hire people directly, but we do have a preferred supplier list for when we'd like a helping hand. We'll be in touch if we need you.
