Overcoming MS (OMS) is the world's leading multiple sclerosis healthy lifestyle charity.

We share the evidence behind the OMS program focussing on the everyday practical things that people can do to improve their health and quality of life. This includes following a plant-based diet, supplementing with vitamin D, exercising and using stress management techniques.

We aim to inform, support and empower everyone affected by MS to lead a full and healthy life. We provide information, including webinars and OMS podcast. Our OMS Circles are a supportive worldwide volunteer group network. We campaign and fund open access to research into how lifestyle influences MS.

As our Digital Engagement Manager, you will help deliver our digital strategy using your keen knowledge and passion for all things digital. By working closely with the Head of Digital you will gain invaluable experience by helping to manage, improve and contribute to our global presence within the MS community.

Our digital presence is central to achieving our mission as well as providing further information, support and a sense of community to those following the OMS program.

You will take ownership of the website, social media channels and other digital products, driving growth, providing highly valuable content and nurturing our close-knit and highly engaged community.

In your role, you will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues, third party agencies and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and creative approach to the digital aspects of the organisation’s activities.

Key Accountabilities

As Digital Engagement Manager, you will support and lead on the implementation of our digital and content projects.  You will be responsible for the development of all digital and content initiatives, campaigns and appeals across our digital channels. You will be able to advise and identify innovative digital solutions / marketing ideas that meet both OMS and the Community’s needs.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Digital Projects (30%)

  • Contribute to and / or lead the delivery of digital projects (including technical projects, product development and content/marketing projects), ensuring they are delivered to a high quality within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Manage a project-specific digital budget and identify opportunities to make efficiencies.
  • Apply the agreed project management methodology to all projects ensuring that user requirements are fully scoped and project governance is adopted

2. Digital Content / Engagement (30%)

  • Develop and plan high quality, engaging content, social media, email and other digital strategies to ensure digital KPI’s are met.
  • Develop and maintain content on the OMS website to ensure a positive user experience, optimizing all website content for search (SEO).
  • Increase social media followers, website members, newsletter subscribers and forum users.
  • Monitor for and report bugs, errors or other technical issues relating to the website, ensuring the website conforms with GDPR and other legal requirements
  • Work with external stakeholders and agencies including development and design agencies.
  • Work with the Data Analyst to ensure all web data is being appropriately updated on the organisation’s CRM.
  • Source, collaborate with and manage volunteers to produce digital content.
  • Monitor the performance of content and campaigns across all digital properties.
  • Report on digital activity as required, including quarterly board reports.

3. Digital Marketing (30%)

  • Be responsible for the successful delivery of digital marketing campaigns and appeals.
  • Develop highly effective customer journeys.  
  • Produce monthly newsletters and other email marketing as required.
  • Report on digital activity as required, including quarterly board reports.
  • Assist the Fundraising team with online activities including fundraising events and campaigns.

4. OMS Team responsibilities 10%

  • Assist the Community Engagement Co-ordinator with digital activities relating to OMS Ambassadors and Circles.
  • Provide digital training and upskilling to the OMS Team as required.
  • Make a positive and valuable contribution to all OMS activities.
