Job description

Overcoming MS (OMS) is the world's leading multiple sclerosis healthy lifestyle charity. Our vision is that everyone with MS is empowered to take control of their health, is making informed lifestyle choices and is living a full and healthy life.

Overcoming MS has entered an exciting new chapter in the charity’s evolution having launched a new strategy  ‘Find Realistic Hope and a Full Life, Find OMS.’ We want to become even more visible, accessible, energetic, vocal, and collaborative.

In the past, one of our deepest and most impactful interventions was a residential multi-day retreat. This was an immersive event aimed at a group of people with MS, facilitated by OMS programme experts called ‘facilitators.’  These experts would educate participants about all key aspects of the programme and share practical tips to aid the adoption of the programme in real life, while encouraging participants to share their experiences of living with MS and building connections.

Job Summary:

In this role you will lead the design and implementation of a new pilot intervention – a type of learning event to inform and support people with MS so they can adopt the OMS programme fully. Learning from our retreat experience, taking what was best and re-modelling it so it can reach more people, be cost-effective to deliver, harness technology and achieve impact at scale are at the core of this exciting assignment.

We see this new pilot project being a flexible hybrid solution with a blend of digital education, face-to-face support, and coaching. A critical factor will be the ability to test assumptions and pilot the new intervention in a real locality, working with OMS facilitators, health partners, in the context of new Integrated Care Systems.

Key responsibilities:

The role’s primary responsibility will be to plan, design and deliver a successful pilot intervention, through 3 key phases:

  1. Intelligence gathering and data analysis
  2. Developing a plan for designing and implementing a new model
  3. Implementing the pilot and evaluating its effectiveness

We are looking for an experienced project manager who is dynamic, focused, results-driven with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should have a knowledge of UK’s healthcare system and commissioning. You will be compassionate and proud of your emotional intelligence.

Application Instructions

Application is by way of CV and a Supporting Statement (no more than 2 sides of A4) which should highlight your interest in the role, along with your relevant skills and experience, with specific examples.

We positively welcome and encourage people with lived experience of MS to apply for this role.
