Background
Freshwater Habitats Trust (FHT) is the UK’s leading conservation charity concerned with the protection of freshwater habitats. We are a friendly, evidence-based organisation that works to protect UK and European freshwater wildlife through practical and innovative nature conservation projects. Our organisation is well respected nationally and internationally, and we work with a network of statutory, NGO and private partners both in the UK and the rest of Europe. Freshwater Habitats Trust was originally founded in 1988 (as Pond Conservation) and has a substantial track-record of originating new ideas through research in freshwater biodiversity conservation to inform and drive our practical conservation and policy work.
FHT has a central office in Oxford, and regional hubs in the north of England and the New Forest and out-posted staff in Cornwall and Wales. We run a range of practical projects throughout the Midlands and work with partners on research and policy projects throughout the UK and internationally. Since 2017 we have seconded staff to the Newt Conservation Partnership (NCP), a new community-benefit society established by NatureSpace, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) and FHT, to create and manage habitats for the NatureSpace District Licensing scheme for great crested newts.
Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire are key areas for Freshwater Habitats Trust’s work. Building on the Trust’s historic work in the county and starting in 2021, Oxfordshire was the first region where we began the implementation of the organisation’s new strategic approach to freshwater conservation, the Freshwater Network. The Freshwater Network is the network of high quality freshwater and wetland habitats, and terrestrial habitats generating clean water across the landscape, that together support our most important freshwater wildlife.
Role
This is a strategically important role within the organisation, offering substantial responsibility and an opportunity for the successful candidate to play a leading role in delivering one of the UK's most ambitious freshwater restoration programmes.
The role will primarily focus on the Ock and Thame Farmers: Floodplains and Freshwaters Project, Ock and Thame Farmers: Freshwaters and Floodplain Restoration, one of Defra's pilot Landscape Recovery projects. Having recently completed its two-year development phase, the project is now entering a critical stage of assurance and negotiations with Defra ahead of implementation.
Key areas of work will include ongoing engagement with land managers, supporting informed decision-making and participation, supporting the establishment of governance and legal structures required for delivery, developing agreements and ecosystem service contracts, undertaking land assessments, and refining habitat designs where required. The project currently involves more than 80 land managers across approximately 7,100 hectares of land in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
In addition to the Landscape Recovery project, the role will involve managing a portfolio of smaller projects across the region. This will include supporting staff delivering catchment monitoring programmes and helping to develop a pipeline of habitat creation and Natural Flood Management opportunities.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of project delivery, working closely with the Programme Manager, Finance Manager, Senior Management Team, project partners, consultants, contractors, and participating land managers.
Key responsibilities
Project management:
· Responsible for work planning, defining tasks and allocating resources.
· Resource, manage and support the project team.
· Responsible for the projects’ budgeting and financial management including: (i) regular reporting to the Project Director and Regional Programme Manager; and (ii) implementation of all financial processes for the projects including regular claiming and reporting funder.
· Responsible for all contract and logistics management
· Responsible for ensuring health and safety procedures are followed, implemented and reported on.
· Track and monitor project progress.
· Present to stakeholders, as required.
· Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
· Update all internal management information data systems
Project communications:
· Working with the Freshwater Habitats Trust Communications Team to deliver the communication plans for the projects.
Project development:
· Working with other members of Freshwater Habitats Trust staff and landowner networks to develop future projects to continue our work on the Freshwater Network in the region.
In the longer term there will be opportunities to influence the development of the Freshwater Network concept as it builds and develops in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and adjacent counties.
Additional general responsibilities for the post holder
· Help to build a positive relationship between Freshwater Habitats Trust and its partners.
· Understand and follow Freshwater Habitats Trust’s internal procedures including Health and Safety, information management systems, site protocols etc.
· Work closely and constructively with your manager and colleagues in all areas of your responsibility.
· Undertake other duties as the Senior Management Team may from time to time require.
Knowledge and experience
· Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (at least a 2:1)
· Full current driving licence
· Proven project and budget management skills
· Proven experience of managing multi-partner projects in the field of practical habitat creation and management, including on the ground delivery to deliver practical conservation outcomes
· Experience of staff management
· Good knowledge of restoration ecology for both freshwater and wetland habitats
· Experience of contractor management
· Knowledge of land management stakeholders and policy
· Computer literate: Word and Excel are essential, GIS is desirable
· Proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including landowners and the public
· General interest in wildlife

Drive is a high risk / high harm domestic abuse perpetration intervention. Its sole aim is to reduce the risk posed by those using high levels of harm towards family members and / or (ex) partners. This is achieved via disruption, diversion and direct behaviour change work, where safe to do so, within a multi-agency framework.
The Case Manager will strive to work one-to-one with perpetrators who have been identified as high risk to pro-actively secure engagement, influence attitudinal and behavioural change and connect with complementary services. To do this, the Case Manager will work with local agencies to design a co-ordinated, strategic individual intervention plan to address identified needs and risks and promote understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. However, it may not always be safe or possible to meet with the perpetrator. Equally as vital to risk reduction efforts is analysis of presenting information to identify ways to disrupt their abusive behaviour, alongside close-knit multiagency working to implement actions.
Throughout all intervention the Drive Case Manager will work closely with the local IDVA service to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved.
The Case Manager will be responsible for delivering outcomes, working typically for up to 12 months to achieve behaviour change with each Service User.
About you
You’ll have a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on clients and children, as well as the reasons behind abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.
Your knowledge extends to the range of statutory and voluntary agencies that clients and their children may encounter, and you are aware of the impact of domestic abuse on children and parenting, including the additional needs of clients from BMER communities.
You will have experience in working with clients on issues of domestic abuse, providing one-to-one and group support and advice, managing your own workload and administration, and assessing the risk and safety of your clients and those connected to your client. You will have handled safeguarding disclosures and referrals, and you communicate clearly with a range of people both over the telephone and in person.
You will be organised, able to use your initiative, and work effectively as part of a multi-service team. Your administrative skills are strong, and you are adept at using a computer to maintain effective systems.
Flexible and willing to work evenings, you can travel independently. Additionally, you will understand trauma-informed practices, risk mitigation, and safeguarding. Experience liaising with social workers and other professionals, and in related areas such as substance misuse, child protection, or family support, is desirable.
Fluency in an additional language and skills in group work are also advantageous. You stay updated with best practices and new initiatives.

The role of the Dog Training Manager is to support the development and training of Hearing Dog puppies to become future life changers.
From 8 weeks of age, puppies enter their training journey to be nurtured and cared for by their volunteer puppy trainer. The Training Manager supports the work of the team responsible for the training of these dogs, ensuring the best possible standards are achieved with each and every dog.
Training Managers form a vital part of the Services department, they provide leadership for the regional teams and are responsible for the quality standards, productivity and efficiency of the dog training pipeline.
We are looking for a self-motivated and positive individual with practical and theoretical experience in dog training and behaviour, with skills in teaching, mentoring and coaching people.
The ability to develop and train dogs using the skills of our volunteers is essential so we are looking for someone who finds value in working with both people and dogs and is driven by the overall goal to help train more dogs for deaf people.
You will need resilience and a high degree of efficiency to be a successful Dog Training Manager and hold a full clean UK driving licence.

About the role
City Harvest relies on voluntary income to raise £4.2 million each year, with corporate partnerships contributing around 30% of total income. This role is central to managing and growing a portfolio of valued corporate supporters, from smaller partnerships through to strategic, multi-year relationships. As City Harvest continues to secure new partnerships worth £50k+, you will play a key role in setting these up for success and delivering excellent account management and stewardship. You will work closely with the Senior New Business Manager and Head of Fundraising, both experienced corporate fundraising specialists, as part of a small, fun and friendly team of five, whose main areas of focus are corporate partnerships, major donors, and trusts and foundations.

Job summary
The Communications and Marketing Manager plays a central role in helping Overcoming MS reach and support more people living with multiple sclerosis worldwide. The role leads the creation of compelling, evidence-based, and emotionally engaging communications that strengthen connections with our community, raise awareness of the Overcoming MS approach, support fundraising, engagement, and behaviour change, and showcase our services and offerings.
Working across communications channels, campaigns, storytelling and community engagement, the postholder will enable our audiences to feel they have the appropriate level of information and confidence to make lifestyle changes, through the support we offer to live a full and healthy life with MS.
Key responsibilities and duties:
The role comprises the following key areas of responsibility:
Communication and campaign creation
Craft engaging, accessible and audience-focused communications which inspire action, deepen engagement and build trust.
Plan and execute integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital channels, print, PR and Community channels in alignment with our Fundraising and Communications Strategy.
Support the Head of Communications, Marketing & Digital with campaign planning, aligning Communications objectives to organisational and income generation objectives.
Support the Services team with the promotion of our services, including the dissemination of insights and data, to grow our awareness and engagement
Support colleagues and audiences. Working with stakeholders to ensure communications are planned and delivered at the right time to meet their needs.

Ensure that we are using the best tools and techniques by staying up to date with trends.
Monitor social media, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to enquiries.
Use analytics to constantly optimise our social media impact.
Ensure content is accessible, audience-led and aligned with best practice in health communication.
Support content development across both digital and print communications where required.
Working closely with the services team, lead the content creation and maintenance of our website to maximise our impact with audiences.
Build and nurture relationships with celebrity ambassadors, influencers and public supporters.
Email marketing
Develop content for email marketing, including for fundraising and events campaigns.
Optimise email by A/B testing content to maximise performance through design and content improvements, and creating triggered email sequences to build our message.
Use audience segmentation and personalisation to support campaigns.
Use analytics to identify ways to constantly optimise our email impact.
Community Engagement
Support our digital community through different discussion groups and platforms (social media, hubs, etc). Including liaising with internal teams and promoting best practice.
Support online events and drive positive engagement opportunities.
Brand communication
Ensuring all activity aligns with brand priorities.
Championing on-brand messaging. Acting as a trusted expert on brand tone of voice.
Ensuring all media and communications guidelines/policies are followed and kept updated.
Sharing best practice with the wider organisation and continuing professional development.
Creative skills
Generate and develop creative and innovative ideas with a good eye for brand, design, film and photography.
Develop clear briefs and oversee production of high-quality digital and printed communications materials.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Self-motivated and adaptable/proactive, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
A keen eye for detail with a consistently high quality of work output.
Highly organised, able to manage a content schedule, and plan and deliver digital campaigns. Able to prioritise work across multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Demonstrable experience in developing, leading and executing high-quality, effective communications and engagement strategies that achieve desired results.
