Principle Responsibilities  

• Proactively recruit high-calibre supporters, volunteers, and community groups, inspiring and leading these networks to generate sustainable income

• Manage a portfolio of regional donors, ensuring excellent stewardship and long-term engagement. Enabling supporters to maximise their fundraising potential 

• Monitor and report on income, expenditure, and key performance indicators, including volunteer recruitment and event registrations, managing an income budget of approximately £600k PA.

• Deliver presentations and pitches to schools, community organisations, and businesses. 

• Act as “the face of BWCHC” within your region, developing and acquiring meaningful, long-term relationships

• Grow and strengthen volunteer and ambassador programmes in line with charity processes and procedures. Enhance fundraising volunteers’ skills to act on behalf of the Charity 

• Spend at least 50% of your time working within your region. Plan effectively, develop fundraising products, and collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure excellent donor stewardship. 

• Maintain strong communication and collaboration across the fundraising department and hospital, balancing relationships effectively while working remotely.

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive Engagement and Communications Officer with experience supporting multi-channel activity across an organisation. As our Digital Learning Production Scheduler, you will own the end to end production lifecycle of multiple digital learning resources: from scoping and scheduling through design, development, quality assurance and release.

What you’ll be doing

• Plan, track and coordinate digital learning production across multiple projects
• Keep schedules and trackers up to date, ensuring everyone has a clear view of deadlines, dependencies and risks

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

This new role is an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support relating to a range of issues, including Welfare Benefits, Social Care and Housing. 

As an Adviser (Scottish Housing, Social Care and Welfare Benefits) you will be responsible for providing specialist support to older people, their families and carers through our advice service with their enquiries relating to housing and welfare benefits in Scotland as well as providing generalist level support on a range of issues through our duty service.

You should have in depth, specialist level knowledge of Housing or Welfare Benefits in Scotland (ideally both) as they relate to older people, and experience working within a high-volume advice setting and advice supervision framework. We plan to expand our advice offer in Scotland to cover Social Care, so knowledge in this area would also be beneficial. You should be able to travel within Scotland, including to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage the DUK project portfolio

• Become a subject matter expert in applied and translational research in DMD, allowing informed decision making and effective communication with key stakeholders
• Support identification of new project and collaborative opportunities, including the ongoing management and delivery of our applicant-led funding call
• Support the Director of Research and Development in project scientific review, working with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team and DUK Board of Trustees
• Manage project development and initiation, including contracting, the development of detailed project plans, including go/no-go milestones, and budgets
• Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, according to agreed timelines and deliverables (including written updates and formal reports), and managing project finances, including reviewing and approval of invoices and monitoring project expenditure
• Support research budget forecasting in liaison with the finance team and the Director of Research and Development, and ensure compliance across the project portfolio
• Build and manage relationships with external partners and maintain regular communication through the project life cycle
• Support the Director of Research and Development to identify areas of strategic focus to inform the development of new research programmes
• Contribute to and support the development of DUK led research proposals for external funding and work with the income generation team to identify opportunities for research funding

Research governance and processes

• Maintain and improve, as relevant, internal processes for research management and governance
• Act as system owner for the research functions within DUK’s CRM (Salesforce), maintaining records and driving process improvements for grant workflows and monitoring
• Support the Director of Research and Development in research governance activities
• Support the Director of Research and Development to ensure compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) requirements, such as - contributing to annual data collection and surveys; implementation of AMRC processes and reviews recommendations, as relevant; keep up to date with relevant news and opportunities for training, collaboration and networking

Support the Director of Research and Development on the following external engagement activities

• Development and implementation of outreach and engagement activities in the DMD patient and research community to inform areas for research focus and prioritisation
• Scoping and development of formal and informal strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholder organisations (e.g. membership societies, other charities, consortia etc)

Support delivery of DUK flagship strategic programmes

DUK has strategic programmes in clinical research access and capacity, care standards and care access, assistive technologies and patient data. Under the oversight of the Director of Research and Development and working closely with the relevant programme team:

• Coordinate key programme updates and discussions between the DUK team and the programme teams
• Working with DUK comms team, support the development of external comms and marketing
• Working with the Director of Research and Development and the programme teams, support development of new initiatives and external funding opportunities

Other key responsibilities

• Provide general research admin support (e.g. arrange research meetings, both internal and external, prepare agendas and take minutes)
• Work with DUK comms team to identify case studies and success stories and support the development of the research comms strategy
• Coordinate research comms and work with the Director of Research and Development and comms team to ensure all research content is accurate and appropriate
• Work with the income generation and comms teams to provide updates to our key co-funding partners
• Support the collection of portfolio data across all programmes for DUK KPIs and to support DUK impact report development
• Coordinate and deliver research led events and support the Director of Research and Development in the agenda and content development for the annual Duchenne UK New Horizons conference
• Travel across the UK to attend meetings with partners

You’ll build and maintain excellent working relationships with your partner schools and colleges, and provide expert guidance on how to embed the platform across all year groups.
You will cover your own area of the country with occasional travel to your partner schools and colleges (on average 1-2 days per week). Please note you will need to be based in Hertfordshire, North London or Cambridgeshire for this role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Work with schools and colleges to provide resources and strategies which maximise staff and student engagement with Unifrog, identifying and promoting best practice across partner schools.

• Deliver targeted training sessions to staff within our partner schools and colleges, delivered remotely or in person. Also deliver impactful training webinars to our wider UK school and colleges network.

• Work with your partner Area Managers to improve Unifrog engagement and achieve a sky high resubscription rate.

• Monitor and analyse platform usage across partner schools and colleges, identifying partners that need additional support and proactively delivering tailored solutions to increase their engagement with the platform.

• Listen to teachers and students about how we can improve our customer service and the Unifrog platform.

• Attend conferences and run CPD training events on behalf of Unifrog.

For someone trying to move forward after contact with the criminal justice system, safe housing can be the turning point that changes everything. As a Housing Advice Worker, you’ll be part of Single Homeless Project (SHP’s) Pan London Housing Advice and Interventions Service, delivered in partnership with St Mungo’s and the Ministry of Justice, helping people on probation find clearer, safer routes away from homelessness and housing crisis.

Based in Brent, with work connecting into designated London boroughs, you’ll work closely with Probation Services to support clients to sustain their current accommodation or secure new housing where needed. Day to day, you’ll hold a caseload, complete strengths-based assessments, explore housing, financial, employment and wider support needs, and build practical plans that turn pressure and uncertainty into clear next steps. We’re looking for an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our small, ambitious team and help secure the funding that makes our work possible.

Our Philanthropy team builds meaningful relationships with supporters, particularly charitable trusts and foundations, to secure a significant proportion of Future Frontiers’ income. We have a strong case for support, a track record of securing trusts and foundations funding, and an exciting pipeline of opportunities. We’re now looking to build on this success as we continue to grow our philanthropy income. 

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you’ll identify prospective funders, manage relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, and craft compelling funding proposals and reports that bring our impact to life. 

This role requires exceptional writing skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate information clearly, accurately and persuasively. You’ll need to be highly organised, proactive and confident managing multiple deadlines, while producing consistently high-quality work.

We’re looking for someone with strong trusts and foundations fundraising experience who can combine outstanding written communication with excellent relationship-building skills.

Your responsibilities:

Write funding applications and reports 

You’ll lead on developing high-quality funding applications, reports and proposals for charitable trusts and foundations that make a compelling case for support and bring our impact to life.

This will include translating complex programme and impact information into clear, engaging and persuasive written communications tailored to each funder’s interests and priorities.

Exceptional writing skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential. You’ll ensure all applications and reports are accurate, well-structured, tailored and submitted to a consistently high standard.

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a Communications Lead to join Working Well Trust. This is a 35-hour per week role, Monday to Friday, based at our Bethnal Green office with travel to other offices and boroughs when required. This role will lead and deliver Working Well Trust’s communications activity across digital, print and internal channels, ensuring that our content is engaging, accessible, timely and aligned with organisational aims, service requirements and brand standards. The postholder will also support contract mobilisation, stakeholder engagement and effective internal communication across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with strong communications, digital content, copywriting and design skills, who can bring creativity, structure and initiative to a growing mental health and employment charity. You will work closely with the CEO, Operations Director, HR Advisor, service teams, clients and external stakeholders to ensure our communications reflect our values, services and impact.
