Contract: Permanent. Full time hours (flexibility considered)

Oxfam is seeking an Individual Engagement Director to provide strategic direction and leadership to deliver on ambitious income growth goals, increase their supporter base and inspire deeper action-taking and connection with Oxfam and its mission.

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty is not inevitable. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and, Oxfam believes, we can end it for good. The charity works in over 60 countries around the world with more than 3,500 partner organisations, as well as allies and communities.

This is an exciting time to be joining Oxfam as it approaches its 80th anniversary and reinvents itself to focus on areas where the organisation can have the most impact. The charity also continues to explore new ways of fighting poverty and speaking out for a fairer world, guided by their commitment to be safe, feminist and anti-racist.

The Individual Engagement Director will lead the Individual Engagement Team to inspire people with the story of Oxfam’s radical impact, partnership and change, and to build the income, action and influence the charity needs to deliver this vision. The role will involve refining and delivering Oxfam’s  long-term strategy to increase income from individual supporters, with a particular focus on unrestricted income streams (regular giving, single giving and legacy fundraising). It will also involve designing and implementing a sector leading supporter engagement approach, ensuring that this is informed by deep audience understanding, as well as developing long-term investment plans for individual supporter engagement to ensure sustainable growth in income.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring, collaborative leader who encourages integration and supports their team to succeed and achieve their potential. You will have a proven track record of designing and delivering ambitious individual income growth strategies, including demonstrable experience of leading large-scale regular giving or subscription marketing programmes. You will also have a deep understanding of direct marketing and supporter engagement principles, as well as of audience understanding techniques. Finally, you will demonstrate Oxfam’s shared feminist leadership principles and live their values of inclusion, accountability and empowerment.
