At Parents And Children Together (PACT) we are genuinely passionate about what we do. We share a purpose of empowering service users and strengthening families through the quality services we provide.
We have been at the forefront of adoption services for over 60 years, working with local authorities across the country. With our outstanding Ofsted rating, we work with a high degree of flexibility and innovation and a range of adopters from all backgrounds.
Our adopter champions are part of a team of experienced adopters who are passionate about adoption and who provide valuable support to our adopters at different stages in their adoption journey by giving advice, guidance, encouragement and signposting. Could you become a vital part of our team by supporting parents of adopted children with a variety of issues including behavioral, eating, sleeping, school, blended families and working with professionals, predominantly during primary and secondary school age through to early adulthood?
We are looking for an adopter with experience of adopting a child/children for a period of 6 years or more and with experience of overcoming challenges within your own adoption journey.
As an adopter champion, it is important to understand the variety of issues an adopter may be faced with including a child’s emotional and behavioural issues, therapeutic parenting techniques, the impact of Early Development Trauma and Attachment Disorder, and the importance of self-care. You will also have good interpersonal skills, communicating and listening effectively with others by phone, email and via video calls.
We would love to hear from you if you are an adopter and can bring different lived experiences, knowledge and perspectives to our group of adopter champions. We are looking to develop a group of adopter champions that is representative of our diverse service users (both current and prospective). We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures to apply for this role.
