This is an exciting time to join the Parent-Infant Foundation. We have always been a small charity that punches well above our weight. Now we have a new leadership team, a new strategy, and are keen to ensure we remain financially viable and compliant in our activities.
The Parent-Infant Foundation is a national charity that bridges the gap between frontline delivery, local commissioning and national decision-making when it comes to parent-infant relationships in families with the most complex and persistent difficulties. Our mission is to support the growth and quality of specialised parent-infant relationship teams across the UK.
Principal duties and responsibilities
Due to retirement we are looking for an experienced finance and governance manager to assist us as we continue to develop the Parent-Infant Foundation.
We are looking for someone who is excited by (and highly skilled in) finance, processes, people, culture and charity compliance. Essentially all the things that will build our infrastructure and set us up to succeed in the way we do things.
You will work across the charity to ensure that we are not only compliant but leading with best practices. This will involve collaborating with our Board of Trustees, Foundation staff, funders and other stakeholders. The role will involve strengthening the existing foundations, whilst leading the development of new systems and processes as we grow.
Working with the Chief Executive, you will have experience of general financial management including management accounting, book-keeping, preparing year-end reports, operational budget setting and management and cash-flow reporting. You may have full or part financial qualification (ACCA or CIMA) or qualification by experience. Ideally, you'll have charity or trustee experience. You will also have experience involved in running a small organisation and the knowhow to confidently take responsibility in areas of finance, HR, charity governance, contracts and policies. You will also line manage the Administration and Communications Assistant. It is this combined experience in financial management and charity governance that will mean you stand out from the rest!
While we are committed to staff development, the central team is small and therefore this is a role for someone with experience in a similar role.
Working two days per week (16h) you will bring attention to detail and accuracy, along with a friendly approach and an interest in the work of our organisation.
About the team
As an organisation we are a small team of seven that work flexibly and from home, meeting up at least monthly as a team and connecting daily through other channels. We care about each other and the work that we do and strive to reach our mission of increasing the support for parent-infant relationships across the UK. We are a great charity to work for, offering 25 days per year (pro rata) annual leave, 5% employer pension contributions and the opportunity to work flexibly.
