Job description

This is an exciting time for Parkinson’s UK, we want to reach as many people as possible so

our network, make genuine connections, and be part of a larger team that works together
to support the Parkinson’s community.


About the role
You’ll support the engagement of professionals in the UK Parkinson’s Excellence Network
by coordinating activities across its structures, and through project development.
You’ll provide leadership to improve the practice of health and social care professionals to
enhance the quality of care and support for people affected by Parkinson’s.
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months covering maternity leave.

What you’ll do
● Engage with health and social care professionals, identifying and supporting their
needs, to contribute to the growth of the Excellence Network
● Ensure a high profile for the Excellence Network at professional conferences,
influencing programmes and coordinating speaker and exhibition activity
● Develop Excellence Network promotional materials and communications, including
social media, and external opportunities in trade media
● Ensure the Excellence Network website content continually meets user needs,
working with internal teams to ensure the best tools are in place to analyse and
implement changes based on user experience
● Assist and lead on the development of tools, projects, research and campaigns to
address the needs of health and social care professionals, working closely across
internal teams and with the Excellence Network clinical leadership team

What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will have:
● Experience of building professional engagement and networks in the field of health
and social care
● Understanding and knowledge of neurological conditions health and social care
structures, issues, developments and delivery
● Ability to write clearly, succinctly and accurately for a health and social care
professional audience using a range of media, and experience of developing
education/information resources
● Experience of content management system use to create and manage digital
content, and an ability to interpret website analytics data
● Research experience and skills relevant to the development of campaigning
strategies and tools to drive change
● Ability to undertake occasional travel and overnight stays
● Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools
(and what is needed from the role) to work collaboratively and productively
