As Peckham Pantry Assistant Manager, you will enable the provision of healthy food to people in our community who would otherwise struggle to feed their family. You will support the Manager to run Peckham Pantry, a pioneering social supermarket, ensuring it meets appropriate safety standard as agreed by all partners. You will look after St Luke’s Pantry which runs only once a week.  You will be responsible for our volunteers who are Peckham Pantry Ambassadors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer (ambassador) management
  • Customer Service
  • Stock management
  • Project development
  • Promotional activity

 

Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):

  • Passion for social justice
  • Retail experience – preferably at a supervisory level
  • Able to work evening and weekends on rota (one evening and weekend every 3 weeks)
  • Full Driving Licence with maximum of 3 points (aged 25-29) or 6 points (aged 30+) and no recent major driving violations, convictions or accidents

 

Desirable knowledge/expertise

  • Experience in the voluntary or community sector
  • An effective networker
  • Experience of working across a spectrum of church cultures and types
  • Knowledge of the food poverty sector
