People & Planet is the largest student network in Britain campaigning campaigning for social and environmental justice. We are offering an exciting training and development opportunity with our 13 month Migrants Justice Internship.
We have one of the most respected internship programmes in the sector, where you’ll gain all the experience you need to thrive in the not-for-profit sector. This position is designed both to help us achieve our campaign aims and you to develop your skills.
You’ll receive intensive, ongoing training, fantastic support and build up the skills so that, by the time you finish, you’ll be single-handedly managing your own projects and campaigns.
Over the course of the year we will provide training and development to enable you to:
support autonomous student led groups to organise and run our campaigns
deliver training and workshops to provide skills to the workshop
undertake research to ensure our campaigns are effective and well informed.
The Migrant Justice Internship is a positive action internship aimed at increasing the participation of certain underrepresented groups within People & Planet and the charity sector
People sharing certain protected characteristics (within the meaning of the Equality Act 2010)
are currently under-represented within People & Planet. The under-represented group that we have identified is people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.
Evidence also shows that people from BAME backgrounds are underrepresented in the charity sector. The Migrant Justice internship is aimed at addressing this by offering a paid, entry level training and development opportunity to gain campaign experience in the charity sector which can be an invaluable first step in breaking into this field.
As such, you are only eligible to apply for this internship if you are from a BAME community group.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
