Job Description

Girls Friendly Society (GFS) offers weekly group sessions for girls and young women to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills. We’ve provided opportunities for girls and young women to develop their self-esteem, confidence, emotional wellbeing and resilience since 1875. With paid staff of 15 and more than 200 volunteers we deliver programmes and organise activities throughout the UK via our extensive network to help enrich the lives of the girls we work with.

We’re now looking for a committed, passionate and inspiring Executive Director to help take us to the next level of our development. We are in the final stages of developing and launching a new five-year strategy to guide our future growth. We are also planning for an office move in late 2019/early 2020 as we continue to seek efficiencies in the way we operate and ensure value for money.

We’re searching from someone with experience of leading a small charity. You’ll come with experience of implementing organisational strategy, overseeing key functions and reporting regularly to boards and committees.

You should be comfortable with charity accounting, setting and managing a budget and have a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures as they relate to young people. You’ll also need to demonstrate an ability to raise funds from a variety of sources, and develop and implement a plan for business growth.

If you have the skills, experience, passion and drive to help take us on the next stage of our journey, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
