Yellow Door is a dynamic, person-centred charity based in Southampton providing a wide range of highly specialist services for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse (DSA). We offer free specialist therapeutic therapy, outreach, prevention, advocacy and support services across Southampton and Western Hampshire and our strong values underpin absolutely everything we do.
Established in 1985, Yellow Door is a friendly, non-judgmental charity and a Centre of expertise in our field. Following the transfer of Southampton Women’s Aid in April last year, our teams have successfully merged into one specialist charity committed to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual abuse; further strengthening our services for our diverse local communities and our dedicated board of trustees.
With our current Chief Executive, Jo Pearce, moving into a consultancy role for Yellow Door at the end of the year, we are now looking for a new Chief Executive to build on the tremendous success of Yellow Door and take us forward on the next exciting stage of our journey.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an inspiring, empathetic and people-focused individual to lead our highly qualified, skilled and experienced multi-disciplinary team. Our CEO will be credible in the topics and issues of DSA in a wide range of situations and work with the Senior Management Team and the Board of Trustees to shape our future plans, delivering sustainable growth and quality.
You will be a strategic leader in a people-focused organisation, passionate about championing the safeguarding and involvement of the people we support throughout the organisation, and in society.
You will have strong communication skills and be a convincing and compelling external advocate for Yellow Door; liaising with external organisations and developing lasting relationships along the way with a multitude of stakeholders.
With well-honed strategic skills, you will also anticipate new opportunities for Yellow Door, forecast and plan ahead. Commercial and financial acumen will be essential. The capability to apply these with an approach to risk management that gives momentum to retaining and developing new business is a key component, whilst always ensuring quality, innovation and continuous service improvement.
You will inspire and motivate staff through dynamic leadership; transforming Yellow Door through a pivotal time whilst retaining high quality service delivery.
