The Philharmonia is a world-class symphony orchestra for the 21st century. Led by its Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor, Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Philharmonia creates thrilling performances in the concert hall and reaches new listeners and participants through audience development projects, digital technology, and a learning and participation programme.
With the recent announcement of Santtu-Matias Rouvali as the Orchestra’s next Principal Conductor, to succeed Esa-Pekka Salonen with effect from the 2021-22 Season, the Orchestra enters a new and exciting phase in its 75-year history.
The Philharmonia has developed strong, long-term relationships with a significant number of trusts and foundations who fund pioneering work across our education programme, digital programme, the regional and residencies programme, the Music of Today series and other strategic priorities.
We are now at an exciting stage to build on this success and are recruiting a Head of Trusts and Foundations to secure grants for the Orchestra’s core work, education and digital programme and for specific projects. Working closely with the Development Director and Director of Education, you will develop and implement our trust and foundations fundraising strategy.
Coming from a background in trust fundraising, you will bring a track record of cultivating trusts and foundations in order to secure charitable gifts. You will be able to work independently as well as collegiately and will bring a thoughtful and considered approach to the fundraising strategy in this area. You will be able to identify opportunities for funding and bring confidence and experience in developing a robust pipeline of funders. A passion for the arts and music is very important, as is the ability to work with a range of stakeholders across our charity.
