Duchenne UK works tirelessly to challenge barriers, deliver practical solutions, and speed up progress for families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The charity collaborate with leading researchers, clinicians, industry and charity partners to deliver hope and measurable progress for people living with DMD in the UK.
Founded by two mothers whose sons were diagnosed with DMD, the charity has raised more than £34 million to accelerate research, improve care and help transform outcomes for families affected by this life-limiting condition.
As the charity enters a new phase of growth, it is investing in the structures, stewardship and fundraising expertise needed to build on that success while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and close community connections that have made it so successful.
A newly created role, the Head of Relationship Fundraising will lead a diverse portfolio spanning Family & Friends fundraising, community fundraising, mid-value and major donor relationships, charity partnerships and corporate fundraising opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, you will inherit an established portfolio of supporters and partners while identifying new opportunities for growth across the Duchenne community and beyond.
A key focus will be Duchenne UK’s Family & Friends Funds programme, a nationwide network of more than 50 family-led funds. You will combine ambitious income generation with exceptional supporter care, building trusted relationships with families, supporters, partners and donors whose connection to DMD is often deeply personal.
Working closely with the Director of Income Generation, CEO and co-founder Emily Reuben OBE, co-founder Alex Johnson OBE, and wider senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of relationship fundraising and helping to build a more strategic and sustainable fundraising programme for the years ahead.

The role
This role will be central to driving the growth of trusts and foundations fundraising at The King’s Trust International, leading an emerging portfolio of global institutional funders while shaping an ambitious strategy to expand our reach. As a key member of the fundraising team, the postholder will steward high‑value partners, secure significant multi‑year grants, and cultivate a strong future pipeline aligned to our new 10‑year organisational strategy. Working closely with colleagues across Programmes, Finance and MarComms, the role will craft compelling proposals and ensure excellent grant management that reflects our commitment to quality, compliance and impact.
Joining at a pivotal moment - following the launch of our long‑term strategy and with a growing base of international supporters - the Trusts and Foundations Manager will help unlock the next phase of our global expansion. The role will play a vital part in deepening relationships with existing, while proactively identifying and cultivating new opportunities across international philanthropic and institutional landscapes.
The postholder will work collaboratively across the wider fundraising function, supporting cross‑entity opportunities and sharing intelligence on global funding trends. About you
You will be a strategic and experienced fundraiser with a strong understanding of global trusts, foundations and institutional funders, and the ability to deliver income growth within a complex, international environment. Your experience of securing and managing grants, along with strong proposal writing, compliance and reporting skills, will help you manage and grow a varied portfolio of funders while building a robust pipeline of new prospects. You will be a persuasive and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex programmes, financial data and impact evidence into compelling cases for support. Highly organised and proactive, you will bring strong project management and financial skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally. You will thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment, combining attention to detail with strategic approach to support sustainable income generation for young people globally.

We are recruiting a Play and Events Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for coordinating our commissioned Theatre in Education school tours in Scotland, London and Northern Ireland, as well as coordinating other DSMF fundraising, networking and information-sharing events.
