Alzheimer’s Research UK has established a number of high profile and strategic programmes of work and a large, growing portfolio of research funded through our response mode schemes over which help us advance our work towards a cure. We are now seeking an experienced Research Partnerships Manager to play a key role in driving forward our research strategy through effective collaboration with external research partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships that advance our work across the department. 

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Identify, build and maintain partnerships which will push progress for our research strategy;

Strategic Planning: 

· Develop a strategic approach to research partnerships, identifying the purpose and benefit for collaboration. 

· Contribute to the development of strategic plans by providing insights on potential partnerships that align.

· Collaborate with the Research, Policy and Communications teams to understand organisational priorities and develop partnership opportunities. 

Relationship Management: 

· Support building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential partners. Support the Leadership Team to maintain a network of partners. 

· Coordinate partnership activities to ensure internal alignment. 

Proposal Development: 

· Lead the development of partnership proposals, agreements, and contracts in collaboration with legal, finance, and research teams.

Performance Monitoring: 

· Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of strategic partnerships. 

· Regularly report on partnership outcomes to leadership. 

Interactions between Research and other ARUK Teams

· Work closely with other teams to ensure that relevant research partnerships with other organisations are well-managed and communicated.

· Proven experience in strategic partnership development and management, preferably in the healthcare, research, or charity sector.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

The grant-making is delivered primarily through the Merchant Taylors' Foundation. It’s  partly about schools but also potentially any setting in which education improves lives – for example, offender rehabilitation, or our Early Years joint programme with the Leathersellers’ Company. 

You’ll sustain vibrant relationships between the Company and schools throughout England and Northern Ireland with which it has close links. Some are state-maintained, some in the independent sector, and you’ll love both types.

You’ll lead on education-related volunteering opportunities for the Company’s membership, a vibrant community of people whose birth decades span the early 2000s back to the 1930s. 

You’ll also lead on relationships with all the stakeholders affecting our education-related work. You’ll ensure those relationships are flourishing and mutually advantageous, and you’ll lead on identifying and building new ones to increase our impact. 

You’ll support fundraising work for the Foundation, for example through creating compelling pieces for social media and hard copy publications.

METRO, In partnership with Turning Point, NAZ and London Friend, delivers a model of sexual health support (SASH) throughout the three London boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. We are looking for a manager to lead the counselling team to deliver high-quality person-centred services within a busy inner London environment. The clients are from diverse communities affected by sexual health and mental health issues, and the role will support staff to work with people from communities such as LGBTQ and Black and Asian Minority Ethnic backgrounds and young people.

[Programme]

METRO, in partnership with Turning Point, NAZ and London Friend, deliver a model of sexual health support throughout the three London boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. Turning Point is the lead partner for the contract and a matrix staffing model is in place. The post-holder will be line-managed by METRO Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing and work alongside staff from other agencies. They will need to work closely with the Turning Point Operations Manager, contributing to management team meetings, and working

collaboratively with other managers across the service. The role will also be clinically supervised via independent supervisor arranged through METRO.

The post holder will also manage an additional contract under METRO called Cherish Hounslow. This contract is in partnership with NAZ, to deliver groupwork and counselling to LGBTQ+ BAME residents in Hounslow. There will be two posts to line manage in this contract, a group work lead and a counsellor.

[Role]

You will lead the liaison and development of work in the local community to promote referrals and joint working across the client pathway and be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager at Turning Point with reporting on the SASH counselling service. The post-holder will also work with the Head of Youth and Mental Health & Wellbeing, to manage Cherish Hounslow.

You will be required to lead and manage the therapeutic team including direct line management of counsellors for sexual health and HIV, LGBT HIV/Sexual health counsellor (supported by London Friend), Black African and other global majority counselling (supported by NAZ) and volunteers within all aspects of the programme. Also, the post holder will carry out clinical assessments, and recruit and line manage volunteer counsellors to support the programme. The postholder will also carry a small client caseload themselves.

The post holder will ensure the completion of all external and internal monitoring and evaluation requirements, including regular performance reports for funders for both services. This will involve the use of appropriate outcome measuring tools, including CORE, and maintaining good relationships with funders and other external stakeholders and partners through regular communication.

This role is based in the UK on a remote homeworking contract or based in our London office. If the role is based in the London office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.

Central England Law Centre (CELC) provides a vital service to clients across Coventry and Birmingham, providing support for all aspects of housing law through a team of dedicated solicitors, caseworkers, paralegals and support workers.

About this exciting opportunity

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

We will also rely on you to plan and chair proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, to identify and successfully bring in new funding opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, and to provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure that the giving potential of each individual funding body is maximised. Updating the Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities and supporting the Statutory Fundraising Team with other tasks, including their funding applications and proposals, are also vital elements of the role.

You will:

• Have an in-depth knowledge of cerebral palsy, its causes, health implications, therapies, and available support due to a personal lived experience.
• Have experience and up to date knowledge of current issues that affect disabled people and those around them, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
• Have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment.
• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
• Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
• Be an excellent communicator who demonstrates effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.
• Be highly organised with the capacity to prioritise workloads effectively by using your own initiative. Ability to engage groups of people and individuals on the subject of cerebral palsy and disability.
• Have direct experience of the barriers that society creates for disabled people. Bringing drive and enthusiasm to the role, demonstrating that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people.

About the role

As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. About the Service

The Refuge Service provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. Refuge Case workers provide emotional and practical support this can include housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits, financial advice and accessing therapeutic support services.

About the Role

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting.  You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.  

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

In addition to case management you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the refuges.  You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.
