Housing Tenancy Officer

Hours: 35-hours per week

Salary: £27,657 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

As an organisation that plans to grow, we are building a new Housing Management team and are looking for a Housing Tenancy Officer to be part of the team.  

The role

The successful Housing Tenancy Officer will carry out a variety of housing management tasks included but not limited to: Supporting with the voids and lettings process, Managing rent arrears with a focus on income maximisation, Working with tenants to ensure they are involved in shaping our services, General tenancy and estate management, Managing day to day repairs, cyclical maintenance and service contracts and Supporting the Senior Housing Manager with longer term asset management planning.

We offer flexibility in how you get your work done, whether that is working from Head Office, being out at the schemes, to occasional working from home. The post is 35 hours flexible working across Monday to Friday with occasional out of hours work.

About You

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and passion for working to improve the quality of our residents’ lives. You need to be enthusiastic and show capability and ownership to develop in the role. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, previous experience with front facing customer service/administrative work in a housing service, excellent IT skills – proficient with Microsoft packages and the ability to learn new systems quickly, together with a positive can-do and flexible attitude to work.  

Please note, you will also need a full UK Driving License and use of a car for business purpose, and able to apply for enhanced DBS certificate, together with evidence of the Right to Work in the UK. These will need to be shown at the interview stage.

The Role 

JLGB are recruiting a Finance & Fundraising Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its financial, fundraising and organisational objectives. Supporting the Director of Operations & Finance, the role is essential for the smooth running of the charity’s finances, collaborating with teams across JLGB, as well as volunteers and external suppliers. With some support from JLGB’s administration team, you will be undertaking all financial transactions including payment runs, bank and income reconciliations. Managing our donor database, ensuring that Gift Aid is collected regularly. The position will be suitable for someone who has experience in these areas and is flexible, reliable, highly numerate and interested in working to support young people to reach their potential. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Processing and reconciling various financial administrative tasks, including petty cash and incoming card payments (via stripe and other card processors) 

• Providing effective financial administrative support to all JLGB programmes and functions 

• Providing support to the Finance Director and assisting with management accounts 

• Preparing expenditure reports for the senior leadership team, finance sub-committee, Trustee Board, funders and stakeholders 

• Validating and processing weekly expenses

The Wingfield Resource Centre currently provides support for individuals experiencing mental health crisis or who require preventative support. We operate 365 days a year from 6pm to 11pm. Our Peer Support service will offer both intensive and low key peer support services. You will support people who are going through a difficult time, by sharing your experiences, helping them discover the strengths and developing skills that will lead to wellness. But it's only possible with the help of people like you. 

Day-to-day, you’ll work with the support staff, mental health nurses and the people who use our services to develop an inclusive and effective peer support service, offering individual and group support. You will help to contribute to the development of organisational policies, procedures, protocols, systems and guidance to underpin the provision of peer support across the service. Identifying and undertaking training programmes, promoting the service to stakeholders and operating within a fully compliant service to agreed budgets – all are part and parcel of this challenging role.

CPRE’s Volunteering Development Officer provides excellent advice on best practice in volunteer engagement so we ensure people from all walks of life can volunteer with us.  You’ll work with the network of 40 county-based charities and with our national CPRE to expand how we campaign for the countryside through volunteering. 

You’ll be working part-time (three days a week) in our Volunteering & Participation team, with the Volunteering and Participation Manager and Volunteering Development Assistant. You’ll also work closely with our Director of Communities and Participation and the Network Engagement team, who are part of the wider Communities and Participation Directorate.

This varied role helps to deliver CPRE’s volunteering strategy, to find a way in for everyone to care for the countryside. Our goal is to promote, preserve, and restore the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls, to empower them to make a total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence. About you

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working at senior leadership level and of managing a range of services as well as a multidisciplinary staff team. CEO (Age UK Sutton)

Age UK Sutton (AUKS) is an independent, local charity with a turnover of around £1.4m. As the CEO, you will be working with a dedicated and experienced support network that includes the Chair and the wider Board of Trustees.

Overarching roles and responsibilities

The key purposes and elements of the Chief Executive role are:

• Supporting the Board in delivering its charitable objectives efficiently and effectively, complying with all its legal and regulatory obligations and maintaining high standards of corporate governance;

Person Specification

Essential experience, qualifications and attributes for the post are demonstrable ability to:

• Inspire, lead and motivate people towards the achievement of excellence;

• Think strategically and translate strategy into measurable objectives underpinned by robust measurement systems;
• Recognise needs and opportunities in the development of services;
• Manage day-to-day operations to a firm budget with effective systems of financial management, control and reporting;
• Employ detailed knowledge of the charity sector and related funding issues including identifying and developing new sources of voluntary income;
• Manage organisational change and restructuring effectively and sensitively, including introducing new services / closing down services, staff redeployment and TUPE
• Work effectively with external partners, stakeholders and a governing Board;
• An affinity for older people and championing their needs.

It would also be highly desirable for candidates to have:

• Knowledge of NHS and local authority / public sector context, and implications for commissioned services
• Commercial acumen, developing and marketing paid-for services 
• An understanding of the implications of digital developments for older people.
