International Direct Marketing Manager


Position Objectives:

  • To manage the planning and execution of the direct marketing fundraising programmes of the PETA Foundation (UK), PETA Australia, PETA Netherlands, PETA France, and PETA India in order to generate and maximise income from members and prospective members of the respective entities' fundraising programmes
  • To ensure that all such programmes are cost-effective and completed on schedule
  • To manage the direct response coordinator

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage prospect mailings, to include assisting in the selection of external and internal lists from list brokers and in-house sources and coordinating the logistics of data gathering, printing, and reporting with external vendors
  • Undertake the following duties in consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by the PETA Foundation (UK), PETA Australia, PETA Netherlands, and PETA India:
  • Manage re-solicitation mailings for all retention appeals, including the annual membership renewal series and special topical "house" appeals to donors of the respective entities, and assist with the development of creative elements as well as segmentation and testing strategies
  • Manage mailings to lapsed donors of the respective entities, to include assisting with the development of creative elements, data selections, and strategy for the supported organisations' annual lapsed-donor programmes
  • Assist with the creation and development of a monthly pledge programme for PETA Australia and PETA India
  • Assist with analysis of the performance of the supported organisations' direct response campaigns, and make recommendations for improvements and cost savings
  • Liaise with telemarketing consultants and vendors, the respective in-house online fundraising managers and teams, external database agencies, and staff members of the PETA Foundation and supported organisations to ensure that respective entities' direct response fundraising programmes maximise net income
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure that all mailings are printed and mailed on time and in a cost-effective manner
  • Oversee the acknowledgment process and related mailings to ensure that recognition is given for as many gifts as possible on a timely basis
  • Prepare weekly and other regular analytical reports for the director of international fundraising to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of all mailings and related fundraising activities
  • Assist the director of international fundraising with the preparation of annual direct response budgets
  • Manage the direct response coordinator to ensure satisfactory completion of work tasks
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor
