Job description

We are recruiting a passionate and recovery focussed Wellbeing and Recovery Worker for our service at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre (IRC). You will join our integrated mental health and substance misuse team within the healthcare department of the IRC. The team provides tailored interventions to service users who are detained in the IRC. This service is one of many secure environment-based services across England, therefore the staff will be able to share best practice and support from our services within the Phoenix Futures Group.    

Do you have? 

  • Experience of delivering high quality psychosocial interventions to clients with drugs and alcohol addiction?
  • An understanding of mental health issues and the ability to support service users with sleep, stress and anxiety management?
  • An understanding of the complex issues presented by service users within the secure environment? 
  • A desire to work in collaboration with primary care, mental health and the operational staff such as custody officers whilst adhering to security requirements? 
  • Experience of the substance misuse sector, mental health or any other related field?

All applicants must be able to prove 3 years continual permanent residency in the UK and not have been out of the country for more than 4 months at any time. This post is subject to a DBS and a CTC clearance.
