EC1V, London
£34,411 per year (full time equivalent £56,533 per annum)
Contract, Part-time, 21 hours per week
Job description

£34,411 per annum for 21 hours a week (FTE £56,533 per annum)

Fixed-term for 1-year initially

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work to give every child the same chance in life.

A fantastic part time opportunity has arisen for an experienced in-house lawyer to join us, to provide a pragmatic in-house legal advice service to the organisation and to support the mitigation of risk arising from any legal, regulatory, compliance or governance issues.

In this new, role, you will work with the Senior Leadership Team, delivering commercially aware legal advice to colleagues,  leading on statutory compliance and governance requirements and supporting the CEO in relation to Charity Law and Charity Commission matters.

You will be English law qualified with substantial post-qualification experience, ideally with experience in the charities and not-for-profit sector. You’ll also have solid experience of company secretarial work. As this is a standalone role, we have a strong preference for previous experience that includes a role as the sole in-house legal expert. You will enjoy working in an agile and flexible way to manage a busy and varied workload and will be adept at networking and forming effective and constructive working relationships.

If you are interested in working with passionate and committed colleagues to help us achieve our ambitious goals, we look forward to receiving your application.

Plan International UK is committed to being an inclusive employer and we welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates, so that our workforce can be a good reflection of the world we live in and the children and communities we work with.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on 1 December 2020

Interviews will take place after 7 December 2020

Due to the nature of our work with children and young people, we follow rigorous safeguarding policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
