Job Description

Part time - 21 hours per week

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work to give every child the same chance in life.

The Policy and Programmes Directorate supports our aims by ensuring that we deliver the highest quality policy and programmes. We constantly enhance programme quality and effectiveness, raise income from institutional donors (like the British Government), and drive change through setting and influencing policy agendas.

We're recruiting a Technical Specialist to provide technical support on WASH, with a strong emphasis on sanitation and hygiene, including menstrual hygiene management.

In the role, you will contribute to technically strong, gender-sensitive or transformative, WASH proposals and provide targeted support to the largest and most complex projects. You will also provide in-country implementation technical support for prioritised projects and as such will be required to travel overseas for up to 25% of the time.

You will have a track record of developing strong fundraising proposals targeted at institutional donors related to WASH (including menstrual hygiene), along with experience of implementing and/or advising on WASH programmes in developing countries. With a good understanding of the funding and policy environment pertaining to WASH, and of best practice in programming, you will be able to contribute to the design and delivery of good quality gender-sensitive or transformative WASH interventions.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Monday 5 August 2019

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 13 or Wednesday 14 August 2019

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
