Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.
We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
This is an exciting time for Plan International as we are in the final stages of launching our refreshed global strategy for 2022-2027. The Strategy and Portfolio Manager will contribute to this critical project alongside working on other strategic initiatives at global, regional and individual country levels as well as supporting broader strategy development and alignment across the organisation.
You will work closely with senior leaders across Plan International to develop strategies and operating models that are aligned to the global strategy, context specific, coherent and consistent and helping them to understand trends and likely future changes in the external environment.
You will build and lead projects, undertaking analysis and developing insightful recommendations for senior management consideration, delivering presentations and facilitating discussions that succinctly and creatively communicate robust and evidence-based messages for complex projects.
With prior experience working on strategy in a consulting firm, INGO or comparable organisation you will have outstanding strategic and financial analysis and evaluation skills. Strong project management and governance experience are essential as is the ability to facilitate, influence and negotiate at senior levels.
You are confident navigating ambiguity, proactive and driven, with a logical, structured approach.
