Bladder Health UK (BHUK) is a small national charity that has developed significantly over the last 10 years. We are now looking for a part-time charity manager who can continue this journey. The role gives a rare opportunity to someone who is enthusiastic to make a difference in this unique space and have a significant impact on both sufferers and healthcare professionals. As charity manager you will need a varied skillset including being able to build and nurture relationships, manage a small team of staff, develop new income streams, create, and develop imaginative projects and use innovative technology to boost the aims and objectives of the charity.
What you would do
Account management of existing and new relationships in the charity sector. • Research and write grant applications. • Support in making decisions and advise on the charity spend. • Work with the BHUK team to tell the story of ‘Bladder Health UK’ via its communication channels. • Support hosting and organising charity events. • Manage the general cashflow for the charity including reporting from a finance perspective. • Work on a multitude of projects throughout the year. • Outreach to relevant charities that the charity wants to work with and build long lasting, meaningful relationships with them. •. • Maintain all contracts, mailing lists, ensuring IT systems are kept up to date, and are compliant. • Manage ongoing governance of the charity, including developing and maintaining policy documents such as our grant making policy, conflict of interest processes, procedures and register, risk management policy and register. • Maintain charity commission register records. You will also be expected to be able to provide and present regular reports to the Trustees on the finance and operational activity of the charity.
To succeed in this post, it is essential that you have:
- Have been involved in charity campaign work previously.
- Have experience in charity operations and governance.
- Have sales /marketing/fundraising experience.
- Be able to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Can demonstrate effective communication skills with ability to liaise with different audiences and be effective at developing long-lasting relationships.
- Evidence that you are highly organised and great with time management.
- Have experience developing social media, websites, and webinars to promote, inform and educate.
It would be desirable that you:
- Have either a clinical background or experience in urology issues.
- Are passionate about making a difference and are willing to understand how amazing our members, volunteers and supporters are.

Salary Scale:£35,766 – £41,535
Appointments are made at the start of the salary scale, £35,766 – £41,535, with annual pay progression based on satisfactory performance. In addition, the pay scale is reviewed annually in the light of cost of living and operational budgets.

About The Role
The Development Manager works closely with the Director of Development & Enterprise and the Development team to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the SLG’s fundraising strategy. The role will work across all aspects of fundraising with particular focus and responsibility for trusts, foundations, embassies and institutional supporters, as well as public funding from Arts Council England and Southwark Council.
The postholder is responsible for ensuring the organisation maintains impeccable relationships with supporters and potential donors, and works closely with the Director, Deputy Director and Director of Development & Enterprise to ensure targets for capital and revenue projects are met.

The Operations and Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in the ISG, overseeing both organisational operations and marketing efforts. Event Management

Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in operations and/or marketing management, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.

This role would best suit someone with significant experience leading policy research programmes – in a think tank, consultancy, central or local government, academia or similar. You will have a strong understanding of policy in London and the UK, project management skills, and be able to credibly communicate complex ideas to different audiences – in meetings, in writing, through blogs and articles, and in speeches. You will have strong analytical skills, including a track record of qualitative and quantitative research. You will have experience in fundraising, will have managed budgets, and will be confident working with researchers at different stages in their careers. However, we are less interested in what you have done, and more in what you can do.
This is ideally a full-time role; however, flexible working is embedded within our culture. We are looking for a collaborative and engaging lead to work in our Business and Investor Engagement (B&IE) team to grow and build relationships with the UK food sector. This role will oversee the charity’s engagement with the business community, with a particular focus on the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors. This involves having strategic oversight of and managing relationships with businesses across the UK food system and positioning ourselves as insight-led critical friends.
The B&IE team engages major food businesses on actions they can take to shift the UK towards more healthy and sustainable diets in order to tackle food system issues such as climate change, nature loss, diet related disease and dietary inequalities. We provide insight and analysis underpinned by our Plating Up Progress benchmark to support and hold businesses to account in increasing sales of healthier and more sustainable foods and in shifting towards more responsible business practices.
The business engagement lead will work closely with the Senior Business and Investor engagement manager to build and develop relationships with the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors, oversee the Food Foundation’s role in an exciting new partnership with a major broadcaster in support of more plant rich diets, oversee the delivery of our flagship report – The State of the Nation’s Food Industry (SOFI) - and collaborate with civil society partners also working in this space. Previous line management experience is desirable but not essential.
This role would be well suited to a registered nutritionist or sustainable food systems expert with experience of working in or with industry and looking to make the move into the charity sector.
