Purpose of the role
One of the core elements of this work is the production of the Freedom of Thought Report. The Report examines every country in the world for its record on upholding the rights and equality for non-religious people. We consider issues of legal discrimination and outright persecution and violence. The Report is essential to our awareness-raising efforts of the persecution faced by the non-religious.
Humanists International is embarking on a 2-year programme of work in order to realize some long-term improvements to the Freedom of Thought Report. We are looking for an enthusiastic research coordinator to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.
As a research coordinator you will support the Casework & Campaigns Manager to administer, plan and produce the Freedom of Thought Report, providing evidenced-based research to shape and influence human rights policy as it pertains to the non-religious.
This is a predominantly home-based role, but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building, as required.

Key duties

Collaborating with the Casework & Campaigns Manager to research, plan, and deliver the Report’s production on an annual basis;

Provide administrative support to the Casework & Campaigns Manager;

Liaising with team members (e.g. Members, Associates, designers, and volunteers) ensuring deadlines are met;

Recruiting, training and coordinating a pool of volunteer researchers;

Developing and implementing training sessions for members, associates, and volunteers;

Liaising with Humanists International members to enable and support them to submit country entry updates;

The Health Awareness Coordinator role at Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering is an excellent opportunity to work within a small team on an established community health project in the London Borough of Havering, which helps to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents by identifying and recruiting Health Champion Volunteers within the borough.
My Health Matters is commissioned by London Borough of Havering (Public Health) and aims to inform, support and signpost residents to relevant local resources and empower them to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The role requires organising Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Health Champion Training for people living and/or working in Havering and other health related training. You will be responsible for researching and organising events and relevant health literature to promote the project, engaging and building relationships with local stakeholders, supporting national Public Health campaigns. You will also be responsible for securing retention of trained volunteers using regular and effective communication. The role includes promoting the service at meetings and outreach events and organising focus groups with Health Champions. Undertaking administration to record any data collected from events, training and Focus Groups for monitoring purposes will be required. The role will also entail management of Health Awareness Officer, Admin Support Officer and volunteers.
Successful applicants will have relevant knowledge in health awareness issues in a paid or voluntary capacity. They will need to be excellent communicators and able to work effectively both one to one and as part of a team as well as supporting and motivating volunteers. Good computer skills and accurate record keeping are also required. Be flexible with both working hours and with other duties arising as the project develops. An enhanced DBS Disclosure is required for this post.

What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing teams are responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
As the Policy and Health Influencing Coordinator, you're key to supporting these teams. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work and sometimes arranging important stakeholder events and meetings ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capturing the outcomes of our external engagement.

Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. About the role
As Crisis looks forward to the next decade, we have a clear vision of how homelessness can be ended in the UK. As Senior Best Practice Officer, you will support each of these areas. You will work alongside Crisis’ policy, communications, and campaigns teams in England, Scotland, and Wales, to further Crisis’ policy objectives and ambition through knowledge and practice examples.
You will support the development of Crisis’s own services across Skylight Centres informed by best practice identified internally and externally. This will include leading a Community of Practice within Crisis.

For example, you will be directly involved in exciting projects like developing a Built for Zero approach in defined areas and supporting our charity partner Lloyds Banking Group to develop their approaches to ending homelessness too.

You’ll understand how local authorities and wider public bodies work and be able to build connections and rapport with individuals working there.
You’ll understand housing and homelessness systems and the current legal frameworks that underpin them across the UK. You’ll know how services can be designed to make sure that those who need help can get it and how to listen to the voices of those who use it.

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager supervises office management, communications, administration, financial management, staffing, programme delivery logistics, reporting and evaluation; and works collaboratively with the Director on strategic and financial development, including embedded environmental sustainability. In addition to the above, the General Manager will lead on developing and dynamically integrating Deptford X's access and care agenda.

Salary: £32 - 35,500 pro rata

Location: We have a hybrid working model outside of festival delivery times. We have an office at Lewisham Arthouse in Deptford/Brockley and also offer the option to work 2 days a week from home.
Hours: 9.30 - 5.30
