Positive Impact Events is a global not-for-profit  which provides engagement, education and collaboration opportunities to build the future of how human interaction happens. Since 2004 we have delivered awareness raising campaigns, provided educational resources and created opportunities for collaboration to influence policy, culture and best practice. We have a number of Memorandums of Understanding with United Nations Bodies including UN Environment and UNFCCC.

We are looking for a Support Intern for a period of 3.5 months, 3 days a week to ensure virtual events hosted by Positive Impact Events are developed and delivered to a high quality (intern roles may vary slightly). The internship will begin 17th November 2020 and will finish 15th March (~15 weeks with two week closure at Christmas).

During this internship you will receive real responsibility from your first day and training from the CEO to aid personal development. We look for people who want to develop themselves so that when they go into a job interview they will succeed, and if not be offered an even higher position. We know from experience that people who throw themselves into the internship get the experience and growth they need to succeed in finding a great job later down the line.

This internship is an unpaid role.


Support intern role:

The support intern role is a varied role helping deliver virtual events hosted by Positive Impact. You will be responsible for some aspects of the event and support the Ambassador and Intern Coordinator in the delivery of other aspects. 


  • Liaise by email and phone with event speakers to confirm logistics and develop session content.

  • Develop event agendas including both the logistics and content with Ambassador and Intern Coordinator.

  • Be responsible for the event technology including sharing this with the speakers, training the Positive Impact team to use the technology and confirming data collection.

  • Liaise by email and phone with event attendees to confirm logistics and gather feedback.

  • Maintain activity trackers for the events including for speakers and attendees. 

  • Lead the event technology and logistics during events. 

  • Lead data collection during events.

  • Deliver the event reports.


Other responsibilities vary and could include:

  • Managing & maintaining reporting to provide insight into the performance of our online communications.

  • Using insights gained from your reporting to work cross-functionally with the Positive Impact Events team to identify areas of opportunity and provide innovative ideas.

  • Working with your intern team to deliver group projects. 

  • You may also be required to complete ad-hoc tasks alongside your responsibilities.


Role requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience.

In this unprecedented time, we are continuing to run our internship programme. Throughout the internship you will need to demonstrate adaptability, reliability and integrity. Applicants must be able to commit to working on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a weekly call at 9:30am every Monday; your third working day is flexible. We also require you to have your own laptop capable of using Zoom and Google Drive, alongside other platforms. 


Key Dates of Recruitment:

  • Applications close: Monday 9th November at 23.30.

  • If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to a group video interview which will be held on Wednesday 11th November at 6-7pm or 7-8pm.

  • If you are successful after the video interview stage, you will be asked to complete a homework task. Deadline: Sunday 15th November 2020 at 23.59.

  • If you are successful after the homework task, the intern induction session will be held on Tuesday 17th November 2020 on Zoom (start time TBC).

  • Internship start date: Tuesday 17th November 2020.
