Senior Inspector - Audit Quality Review



  • Are you a qualified Accountant with up to date CPE?
  • Do you have significant experience at senior manager level or above in the audit profession in the audits of listed and other public interest entities
  • Do you have strong technical auditing and accounting skills?

The role

To conduct audit file reviews and inspections of firm-wide procedures at big four, mid-tier, international and/or public sector firms, focusing on the largest and most complex audits subject to AQR inspection.

To lead inspections at an individual firm or a particular stream of inspection activity for part of a year as required. This will include -

  • Responsible for leading tranches of audit inspection work and/or undertaking inspection work
  • Able to make sound decisions about the significance of issues arising on inspections.
  • Commitment to improving audit quality through the inspection process


  • Qualified Accountant with up to date CPE.
  • Significant experience at senior manager level or above in the audit profession in the audits of listed and other public interest entities. Demonstrable interest and involvement in audit firm's audit quality initiatives.
  • Strong technical auditing and accounting skills
  • Broad business knowledge and interest to facilitate working across multiple sectors
  • Ability to understand and assess significant volumes of information quickly and through this identify aspects of potential audit quality concern.
  • Ability to challenge the judgments and quality of work performed by engagement partners and other members of the audit teams whose files are subject to review, including the largest and most complex audits.
  • Ability to assume a lead role if required, including management of an overall inspection and delegation to, supervision of and provision of feedback to other staff assigned to that work.
