We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, to lead on Neuroscience related fundraising for the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences as part of the friendly team working across the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.

The Medical Sciences Division at Oxford has been ranked number one in the world for the last twelve years in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences. Recent accomplishments of the Medical Sciences Division include its research into the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably through the delivery of the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine, which is estimated to have saved over 6 million lives.

About the role:

This fundraiser will work closely with the Heads of Departments and academics in the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. The post will focus primarily on funding for research, academic posts, scholarships and infrastructure related to Neuroscience which includes Mental Health and neurological disease (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke and Epilepsy). The fundraiser will work on special projects including the possible major capital redevelopment of the Warneford site. While an interest in medical research and neuroscience is essential, you do not need to be a sciences graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

You are an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. You will lead on major gift fundraising (£100k-£1m+) working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and individuals).

About the role

In this role, you will offer clinical supervision to the Macmillan Support Line teams including advisers, nurses, line managers, service knowledge specialists and other groups and individuals as needed. As part of their continuing professional development, you will enable colleagues to reflect on their practice in supporting people affected by cancer while maintaining their own wellbeing.

You will be part of a team of 3 part-time clinical supervisors and will be given opportunities to feedback on recurrent themes to the organisation. You will learn about organisational wellbeing and be a key part of a team capable of working in an emotionally challenging, fast paced, live contact centre environment.

You will be running regular small group supervision sessions (approximately 3 per day) for 1hr 15’ each, managing a caseload of approximately 25 groups monthly. You will also offer individual supervision where needed.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• You must hold one of the following qualifications: Clinical Supervision Level 6 or above; accredited Counsellor or Psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, UK Council for Psychotherapy, Health Professionals Council)
• Your experience of delivering both 1-1 and group supervision virtually will be essential
• Experience of delivering supervision to colleagues who provide a live, frontline, fast paced health related service is desirable

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To work within the admin team to help provide administration support and answer a busy switchboard within the department under the direction of the PA to The Chief Executive/Admin Manager. 

ABOUT THE JOB:

An experienced and capable administrator with excellent literacy, numeracy and organisational skills, you will work within the admin team to assist with data entry, incoming and outgoing mail as and when needed.  You may, on occasion, assist other teams within The Trust with their duties.

Title: Fundraising Officer.

Location: The candidate will be based in Birmingham, where they will work from home for the majority of the time (with monthly travel to the All Team meeting in London, and occassional additional travel). There will also be opportunities to meet with a small number of other Stonewall Housing staff based in Birmingham.

Role context: Stonewall Housing is currently growing its Development Team, and this Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in maximising Stonewall Housing’s income and raising its profile across the UK (with a particular focus on building relationships and partnerships in Birmingham and the surrounding area). It’s an exciting opportunity for the right person to make this role their own and to bring innovative ideas to our organisation.

Days per week: This role can be for 3 or 4 days per week depending on the candidate's preference.

Please note: The salary advertised includes London weighting. In the role, you’ll be:

1. You’ll be building relationships with a wide range of individuals, community supporters, networks and local groups to fundraise and build awareness of Stonewall Housing’s mission, with a particular focus on Birmingham-based individuals and organisations.
2. Working with the Development Officer and Community and Events Fundraising Specialist on community fundraiser stewardship, where you’ll be providing support to individuals and groups fundraising for Stonewall Housing through their own events or running and challenge activities.
3. Supporting the Development Officer and Community and Events Fundraising Specialist with refining, developing and implementing our annual programme of Stonewall Housing-led events, including cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events.
4. Working with the Development Team to develop Stonewall Housing’s Legacy Giving programme, ‘Over the Rainbow’.
5. Supporting the Training Lead by delivering engaging in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops to other organisations and networks across the public and private sectors. You’ll be empowering teams of all sizes to confidently meet the needs of LGBTQ+ people in their staff team or accessing their services. You will receive comprehensive and bespoke Stonewall Housing training in how to best deliver these sessions. 
6. Supporting the Development Team and the wider organisation by taking part in external panels and speaking engagement opportunities, confidently representing the work of Stonewall Housing.
7. Developing new compelling cases for support both for individual donors and for broader fundraising activities.
8. Using data and evidence to monitor KPIs and track trends, helping the Development Team make informed decisions.
9. Supporting the wider Development Team with the day-to-day running of fundraising, comms, and awareness activity.

Your experience:

· Experience of developing and enacting ambitious strategic plans for a fundraising area (this could be Community Giving, Events, Individual Giving, Corporate Giving, or similar).

· Demonstrable understanding of implementing best practice to fundraising activities.

· A track record of building positive and prosperous relationships with supporters.

· Experience of developing engaging supporter journeys.

Your skills and attributes:

· Confident and enthusiastic public speaker, at both in person or virtual events.

· A creative problem solver with a solutions-focussed outlook.

· Excellent team player who likes to get stuck into new tasks and action groups.

We are looking for a full time Peer Engagement Practitioner.

This is an innovative new service, integrating the expertise, skills and knowledge of the network in Barnet with NHS Mental Health services. The purpose of the role is to provide peer led psycho-social support to clients, working within specialist Mental Health teams and the VCS delivery partners. This role will also serve to enhance the work of the MH teams, and other practitioners within the service, to ensure it remains clients focused, recovery informed, and embedded with experience led practice.

The role will carry an active caseload, working with clients to determine their recovery needs, identifying resources available within the community, providing expert advice and support, facilitating recovery focused peer support groups, and contributing to the development of new community resources.

Role Description

This new role of Programme Officer (Social Change) will play an integral part in ensuring our grant making has the best possible impact. Working with the Programme Manager (Social Change) and the wider Impact Team, you will be the first point of contact for potential grant applicants and deliver effective processes that ensure that anyone who applies to us for funding has a positive experience, whether they are successful or not. You will lead on all aspects of administering our Social Change grant calls and provide the rest of the team with the information needed to support robust and transparent decision-making. You will also be involved in events for our applicants and will work with colleagues to continually refine and improve our grant making processes.

Role Responsibilities:

Administering grant processes:

· Working with the Programme Manager (Social Change) to update application and guidance forms for each funding round

· Work closely with colleagues to set up the grant call in our online grant management system.

· Provide guidance to potential applicants and respond to their queries, e.g. about eligibility.

· Work with colleagues who run the research funding programme to ensure that opportunities for efficiencies and shared processes are maximised

· Process grant applications, ensuring that we adhere to the highest standards of grant making

· Assist with the preparation of papers to support our decision-making processes, including supporting our Social Change Grants Assessment Panel (SGAP) by ensuring they have all relevant information and that the meetings run smoothly.

· Following final decision, ensure that terms and conditions and award letters are sent to successful applicants and ensure a smooth transition of projects to the Programme Manager (Social Change) who will manage the active projects.

Event support and attendance

· Assist with the organisation and delivery of in person and online meetings and events, e.g. a feedback session for unsuccessful applicants.

· Assist with the organisation of visits relating to the social change funding programme, e.g. helping put together briefing documents, supporting with arrangements and highlighting opportunities for stories and impact with communications colleagues.

Team support:

· Provide support to the wider Impact team where required, e.g. working with the finance team on the processing of invoices.

· Assisting the team in keeping accurate and up to date records, including on the online grants management system and ensure that all relevant records are readily and easily available

Person specification:

Skills, knowledge & experience

Essential 

· Health or social sciences degree or with experience of working in grant making or similar

· Experience of working in an office/ administrative environment, ideally as part of a hybrid team

· Proficient in the use of standard IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

· Experience of working in a research or grant making organisation.

· Experience of working with committees, ideally with a health, research or charitable giving remit.

· Experience using online grant management systems.
