Mind in Brighton and Hove (MiBH) empowers and supports people who have experience of mental health issues in Brighton and Hove, East and West Sussex.
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to develop and deliver our project Men in Mind: Mental Health, Skills, Training and Support in East Sussex. The project provides a range of training and skills activities to engage and equip men in East Sussex to have supportive conversations about mental health and wellbeing with their peers.
The Men in Mind project has been running since January 2023 and has engaged and delivered mental health awareness training to public-facing businesses and spaces where men work and visit, predominatly in Eastbourne and Hailsham. Businesses engaged so far include barber shops, construction, manufactoring and sports venues. We are seeking an additional Project Coordinator to extend the project’s engagement with businesses to other areas in East Sussex and to businesses that have not yet engaged with the Men in Mind project.
The role will be varied and busy requiring excellent organisation, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to work flexibly. We are looking for someone with good understanding of the main issues surrounding men’s mental health, who can design and deliver training activities and resources responding to identified skills and training needs.

Role overview.

Purpose of the role:
To support the Development and Fundraising function of the Trust, developing long term relationships and maximising income. Key responsibilities:
Relationship Development
· Nurture and develop relationships with existing donors, contributing to the collection of monitoring information ensuring continued support and engagement.

Funding and partnership proposals

· Work with the finance team to ensure income regular income reconciliation and forecasting.

Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Family Support Coordinators manage and supervise the support given by volunteers and work directly with families themselves. We also provide a wide range of group support for families (Best-Start, Bump-Start and Mothers in Mind) and specific support to dads/partners through our Dad Matters Gloucestershire Project.
Purposes of the job
- To maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the Home-Start model and ethos.

Support for families

- Providing direct support to families when there are no volunteers available or where additional needs have been identified.
- Attending professional group meetings when necessary in order to support families and promote good working relationships with other agencies working alongside the family.

Managing Volunteers
- Recruiting, selecting and preparing suitable volunteers.

Supporting the work of the scheme

About the role
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage with you.
This role is part home, part office based. You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements, with one day a week in the office.
Main responsibilities include:
• Supporting the implementation of our strategy to maximise income from a portfolio of current and lapsed charitable trust donors, giving grants between £1,000 and £10,000, achieving agreed financial and non-financial objectives, and ensuring prompt reporting to these donors.
• Helping to establish, maintain and develop personalised relationships with existing funders
• Researching, approaching and establishing relationships with lapsed and prospective funders, with a view to securing funding
• Supporting colleagues and senior colleagues at external events and meetings
• Maintaining and developing a portfolio of appropriate funding proposals, working with Income colleagues and other Young Lives vs Cancer departments as appropriate
