Job Description

Programme Officer (Bids and Multilaterals)

c. £38,000 per annum

Plan International UK strives to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 75 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The bidding for and delivery of commercial contracts forms a key part of Plan International UK’s strategy.  As Programme Officer (Bids and Multilaterals), you will be a key player in the drive to expand our commercial contracts work, often as part of consortia involving organisations from the NGO, private and academic sectors. You will play an integral role in writing successful bids, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to allow Plan to respond to published opportunities when they arise, and in creating other opportunities through networking and research.

To succeed in the role you will have previously worked in an international development fundraising environment (preferably with prior experience of commercial tenders) and have experience of analysing and condensing information into concise, persuasive documents.  You will have a demonstrable interest in commercial approaches to international development, along with the ability to produce high quality work under pressure and working to multiple deadlines.

The deadline for applications is 9:00am on Wednesday 25 January 2017.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 2 February 2017.

Due to the nature of our work with children, we follow rigorous child protection policies and procedures in our recruitment process. As a result, some of our roles are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee or volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.

You should never provide bank or financial information, or make any form of payment, when applying for a job. If you are ever asked to do this by a recruiter on our site, please email: [email protected]
