Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. It affects over 153,000 people in the UK. So we urgently need new treatments, more support for people living with the condition and more funds to find a cure. In the last 50 years, we’ve invested more than £100 million in cutting-edge research to uncover the causes of Parkinson’s. We believe we’re close to finding a solution. But not close enough. That’s why we need more people like you!

You’ll be at the heart of our annual iconic campaign to maximise the positive impact from World Parkinson’s Day, in April every year, to ensure the delivery in the most efficient, impactful and relevant manner to both our core audiences and throughout the charity. 

You will communicate with and coordinate colleagues across multiple teams in the charity and in the Parkinson’s Community in the shared purpose of inspiring the Parkinson’s community to support the campaign and engage with our charity. It will involve high profile brand awareness activity, digital, social media as well as local community involvement and fundraising initiatives to further establish the charity as the ‘go to’ for people with Parkinson’s, those who support them and our supporters.

You’ll bring skills gained in campaign and project management and support the evaluation of the previous campaign to inform development of new activity,  help colleagues and supporters understand its impact and embedding key insights / learning.

This is a fixed term contract for a duration of 7 months 

What you’ll do:

• Operationally plan and project manage the WPD campaign, leading on preparatory work and building systems and processes to ensure its success.

• Prepare project plan and help align activity with existing BAU and other strategic campaigns in the External Relations Directorate and the Studio

• Work with the Campaign Strategy Lead to  define wider KPIs to measure the campaign’s success, identify opportunities and manage risks.

• Build knowledge of and commitment to the campaign with key teams and with the senior leadership team and trustees. Provide feedback to colleagues, communicating project learning and celebrating successes

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of planning and project managing charity campaigns. messaging frameworks and multi-channel communications (or similar complex projects), leading to achievement of goals and targets. 

• Highly organised and able to manage a range of activities across different teams, encouraging and motivating colleagues to support the project goals and creating compelling project updates and reports. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and confident working with key stakeholders at many levels within the charity.  

• Knowledge of key fundraising and charity disciplines, including experience of digital marketing and engagement.

Project Manager - The National Paediatric Diabetes Audit (NPDA)

The Project Manager, National Paediatric Diabetes Audit (NPDA) is an influential role for the College as you will project manage and deliver a high quality and impactful national clinical audit which will support improvements in paediatric diabetes services and networks and clinical care for patients and their families.

As Project Manager of the NPDA, you will lead the development and delivery of the audit including the overall audit methodology and production of periodic reports, following project, risk and budgetary management principles of each deliverable through to completion. 

Reporting to the Head of Audits, you will drive forward the incremental improvements of delivery of care to children and young people with diabetes by leading the development of quality improvement and patient engagement activities, whilst also leading the development and delivery of systems for public reporting of audit key performance data in the public domain. You will also ensure that the audit findings are disseminated widely and effectively and will take responsibility for delivering presentations on the audit findings to commissioners and funders, as well as clinical and patient stakeholders.

In addition, you will assess the audit’s impact, viability, scalability and legacy potential and assist in identifying the potential for future funding and development of tender applications. Ensuring audit contracts and supplier contracts are appropriately tendered, drafted, agreed, monitored and managed, you will also take the lead on the preparation for contract review meetings with commissioners, providing project progress and financial reports as required.

Degree qualified or with equivalent experience within a healthcare or research discipline, you should have proven experience of working in health-related audit or research in a university or NHS setting (or other relevant organisation) and be capable of producing high quality written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences. 

With outstanding contract management and negotiating skills and a recent and successful track record in a management role, you should also have line management experience and be able to take personal responsibility for your projects, whilst delegating, managing and assuring the work of others.

Your demonstrable knowledge of statistical concepts and data cleaning, processing and management, your high level of numeracy and your ability to interpret the interrogation of large, complex datasets will ensure you are able to deliver multiple objectives within short time frames to high standards and to meet multiple deadlines.

Experience of developing and delivering quality improvement and patient engagement activities along with experience of working on the development of an application programming interface (API) to allow software applications talk to each other for the purpose of secure data exchange, would be desirable.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.

About Worldwide Radiology (WWR)

We are medical experts applying our skills and knowledge to make a difference in the world. We bring together the global community of medical imaging professionals to make the case for diagnostic imaging.

Since 2017, Worldwide Radiology has been steadily growing from a small group of founding UK radiologists with experience of working in limited resource settings to an international team of around 50 long-term volunteers from a range of different imaging and clinical backgrounds.

We support the development of appropriate, high quality imaging services in low and middle income countries; from central teaching hospitals to remote district clinics. We work together with our partners to build the necessary skills and capacity to improve patient care and we aim to increase opportunities for imaging research focused on local or national healthcare priorities.

Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships. 

​

They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:

(a) oversee the smooth running of our projects; 

(b) provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and 

(c) support the overall growth and development of the organisation.
 

Role-Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

2. Oversee the development and operational execution of detailed work-plans and budgets for WWR programme

3. Track all milestones and reporting schedules, taking timely action to ensure they are met.

4. Develop and deliver project MEAL activities in collaboration with our external MEAL consultant.

5. Produce (gather, collate and edit)  high quality, timely project progress, annual and donor-specific reports.

6. Oversee the management of partnership agreements and contracts in accordance with the donor specific requirements.

7. Support the identification and securing of new grant opportunities in collaboration with the programmes and fundraising teams.

8. Communicate administrative and technical information to WWR project partners in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.

9. Assist team members, volunteers, partners and members of the public with queries, demonstrating tact and understanding when dealing with complex and serious issues, deliver a consistently high and appropriate level of service and support to individuals contacting WWR.

10. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and management of both UK and international WWR volunteers.

We are seeking to recruit a person with passion for our purpose and a collaborative spirit to be the strategic lead on our football and multisport commitment.

The multi-sport facilities commitment is a key priority within Sport England’s Uniting the Movement Implementation Plan. As part of this commitment, up to £224 million of Government funding is being invested into football facilities for 2022-25 through the Football Foundation, with a minimum of 40% of that investment required to benefit other sports.

We are seeking a strategic lead who will focus on supporting our Active Partnership network to activate football and multi-sport community sites through influencing policy, distributing funds and working closely with key National Governing Bodies, sporting and football stakeholders to develop positive and sustainable relationships.

This role and the work of colleagues, including local Active Partnerships, ensures local communities have more access to places to play football and other sports in their local area and aligns with Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy.

The strategic lead will also work closely with the Multi-Sport programme manager and Active Environment lead to oversee the Multi-Sport Activity and Facilities Fund, which was announced last year and which will provide revenue funding to deliver multi-sport activity and some small-scale capital test and learn investment. Close working with the eight regional leads who liaise with local Active Partnerships will also be vital.

The Active Partnerships National Organisation (ANPO) will work on the programme alongside key partners.  These include Active Partnerships from across the network to deliver the fund locally, the Football Foundation, the LTA Parks Tennis, England Hockey, and Sport England. The latter has invested £8 million of National Lottery funding across a four-year period.

The fund is an opportunity for local communities to fully benefit from facility activation investment in their area, where an opportunity for new multi-sport activity has been identified. The fund will focus on activating PlayZones and other Football Foundation 3G or grass pitches, parks (Lawn Tennis Association Parks Tennis) and artificial grass pitch sites (England Hockey) in targeted areas. Selection is based on criteria such as Active Partnerships priority places and Sport England’s place-based expansion.

Roles and Responsibilities

•Develop and lead relationships with Sport England and strategic partners, specifically with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) leads and the Football Foundation.

•Link to and support wider areas of football work through Sport England, the Football Foundation, the Football Association and other football partners, ensuring strong connectivity with the Active Partnerships network. 

•Be responsible and accountable for developing and delivering against an agreed strategic and operational framework, including risk management, governance, and evaluation.

•Develop and support implementation of strategic frameworks for communication and monitoring, evaluation and learning for the investment, ensuring a joined-up approach to maximise the impact.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate for our Policy Manager (Maternity cover) position will be joining BSR’s high performing and dynamic External Affairs team, which is promoting excellence and driving up the standard of Rheumatology care across the four nations of the UK by affecting public policy change. In 2023 our External Affairs team were nominated for an industry wide Public Affairs award for hugely impactful Homecare Medicines Campaign, so it is a fantastic time to join the team and we continue to work on the cutting-edge of policy and public affairs.  

The role of the Policy Manager is to work closely with our members to give a voice to the society within emerging health policy discussions, public consultations and to play an important role in the development of our integrated departmental campaigning approach. The Policy Manager also plays a leading role in the development of our pro-active policy work and helps to shape the direction of the society’s lobbying. In the last year the Policy Manager has played a crucial role in producing expert advice and guidance, as well as groundbreaking health economics research, which are improving the delivery of Rheumatology care across the country – and 2024/25 is going to be another exciting period for the team.  

Main responsibilities

• To develop the Society’s pro-active policy agenda by conducting research, writing policy papers and managing research contracts in-line with of our goal to improve the quality of care in Rheumatology services.
•  To drive excellence in all aspects of rheumatology by managing BSR’s member-led Clinical Affairs Committee and supporting the committee to deliver on their work plan. 
• To co-ordinate BSR’s response to health policy developments and in regular public consultations, for example technology appraisals, guidelines in development and quality standards.
• To support the development of the Society’s leadership voice in the public policy space by working closely with the Head of EA and Public Affairs Manager to deliver our integrated campaign approach to influencing change.
• To build and maintain stakeholder relations with internal and external stakeholders and to engage with relevant bodies to represent the society as and when required on emerging policy issues.

The Programme Manager will work with colleagues to design and deliver our ongoing Experiences of Care (EoC) programme.  The programme has been developed to equip and support staff, patients and carers to improve people's experiences of health and care services.

As a key member of the Academy’s Science Base and Careers Policy team, the Policy Manager will work closely with the Head of Science Base and Careers Policy and senior stakeholders to contribute to the Academy’s strategic priority to Strengthen Research.

Audit Project Coordinator

The National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP) Project Coordinator is an instrumental role for the College in which you will support the delivery of a high-quality national clinical audit along with supporting improvements in neonatal care for babies and their families.

As Audit Project Coordinator, you will coordinate the collection of high-quality audit data, and be responsible for coordinating sub-projects and spotlight audits.

Acting as the first point of contact for audit process and data enquiries received from hospital units, regional network leads and other stakeholder organisations, you will take responsibility for responding to each enquiry using your detailed knowledge of the audit methodology.

You will also respond to queries relating to the NNAP methodology and support paediatric services within NHS Health Boards, Trusts and Networks to understand and use NNAP results to inform quality improvement activities, as well as monitoring NNAP participation rates to define, execute and promote improvements to data submission processes.

Reporting to the NNAP Project Manager, you will conduct testing and quality assurance of audit software systems, liaising with software developers to evaluate, improve and update online data submission and reporting processes, whilst preparing updates to project webpages, user guidance and promotional materials for audit submission and participation. In addition, you will coordinate project webinars, workshops and national events for the NNAP and represent the NNAP at conferences to help promote NNAP activities.

You will also prepare and disseminate audit outputs and publications for different audiences, including audit commissioners and funders, children, young people and families, and NHS services participating in the audit.

Degree qualified or with equivalent experience in a mathematical or numerate discipline, you should have proven experience of producing high-quality written reports and promotional information, suitable for a range of audiences.

With strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, a high level of numeracy and the ability to interrogate large, complex datasets in Excel or statistical packages, you should have a background of working in a health-related or research setting.

Your project management experience along with your proven organisational skills and your ability to adopt an orderly and precise approach to work should ensure you are able to take personal responsibility for your own projects.

Demonstrable experience of engaging and communicating with stakeholders effectively, along with a proven understanding of information governance, data protection and confidentiality processes are essential.

A project management certification/qualification, knowledge and experience of the use of statistical packages, and a general understanding of a clinical audit and the reasons why clinical conditions are audited locally and nationally, would be desirable. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community. 

The RCPCH has more than 22,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring  

• Particularly during our Dry January campaign period (December – January) provide additional support for the team across a range of roles  

Other     

You will also be expected to:     

• Support the Senior Digital Programme Manager to monitor income and expenditure for the Try Dry Local programme   

• Work closely with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’  

• Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies  

• Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it  

• Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times  

• Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times  

• Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity, time off in lieu (TOIL) will be earnt for any work required outside of normal working hours  

The Huntington's Disease Association is a UK registered charity that supports people affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. We provide information, advice and support to families, friends, and healthcare professionals.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Manager to support and inspire those who volunteer for the charity. You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will strengthen our current volunteering strands with effective governance and great communication and will develop new volunteering opportunities within the charity.

You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. You will also manage HD Voice, our panel of volunteers, who contribute to the internal development of the charity and ensure that the voice of the Huntington’s community is at the heart of research into the condition.

You will co-ordinate all aspects of the volunteer journey from recruitment, selection, induction, training and ongoing support and develop effective policies, procedures and guidance for volunteers as well as developing an effective monitoring and evaluation process.

We are looking for someone with strong volunteer management skills who has experience of training volunteers and of writing policies, procedures and guidance in line with data protection guidance. Also someone with great communication and relationship management skills who has experience of managing volunteers at all stages of their volunteer journey.   

There will be regular evening and weekend work as many of our volunteers work themselves so need the support out of office hours. There will be a need for travel across England and Wales.

ARMA (UK) is the professional association for research management in the UK. We currently have around 3,5000 individual members from 250 organisations, ranging from universities and research institutes to research funders and the National Health Service.

This role will be responsible for the effective delivery of ARMA’s scheduled and ad hoc training and development events (c25 per year) and our mentoring programme.

This role will work closely with our Qualifications and Member Engagement Officers, various working groups and our volunteer trainers to support them to deliver high quality training, that meets our members needs.
