Personal Assistant to the Principal
(with a focus on fundraising & development support)
Location: Tyndale House, Cambridge (Hybrid working considered)
Hours: Minimum 22.5 hours/3 days per week (with flexibility up to full time hours)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 FTE (dependent on experience) & competetive benefits

Our Principal is looking for a Personal Assistant who has the initiative to drive projects forward and is highly organised. This is an exciting new role within a vibrant and growing Charity. The successful candidate will provide strong executive support to the Principal as he seeks to further develop the organisation’s outputs.
Tyndale House is a renowned institute for biblical studies and possesses one of the finest libraries for biblical research in the world. It aims to grow an international research community, to present the value of the Bible at the highest academic level, to resource the Church to understand and trust the Bible, and to promote informed attitudes to the Bible.
The role of Personal Assistant to the Principal will provide the Principal with proactive and confidential project-related and administrative support, with a particular focus on development and fundraising activities. Our current annual expenditure on charitable activities is around £1.3m and we rely on donations and receive no public subsidy. The Principal therefore acts as both the head of the Charity as well as the primary fundraiser.
The post-holder will possess strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the tenacity to follow work through to completion. He/she should have experience in a previous PA and/or fundraising & development role, ideally within the Charity sector.
There is an Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be an active, practising, evangelical Christian in agreement with the doctrinal basis of Tyndale House and living in accord with our Ethos Statement (permitted under schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).

The role
As an Executive Assistant in the newly formed Business Support Team, you’ll be highly organised and a great communicator. You’ll be responsible for providing highly efficient and effective support across all administrative and organisational activities. Working in a fast-paced responsive team you will be one of the first points of contact for the Executive Leadership Team and will assist with administration and organisation of diaries for meetings and travel arrangements, preparing briefs and drafting various communications where appropriate. You’ll attend key meetings in a supporting role and ensure efficiency and timely support to the Leadership team.
You’ll also assist with front-line reception administration services in the Ewell, Epsom Office as required.
The team
At the heart of our organisation's success lies the crucial role of administration support. These roles wield direct influence over the realisation of core strategic objectives, as well as the smooth functioning of day-to-day business operations. The newly formed Business Support team will not only cater to the needs of Executive Leadership Team and departmental/staff administration but also plays a pivotal role in supporting the broader organisational ambitions through services such as record retention/retrieval, telephony, postal/courier management, cash handling and more.
The terms
Samaritans are looking for two Executive Assistants to join the team - details below;
- 12 month Fixed term contract
- Full time - 35 hours per week. Part time - 20 hours per week preferably worked over 4 days
- £33,000 - £35,000 per annum (£18,857 - £20,000 per annum for 20 hours/week)

- Predominately office Based in Ewell (Surrey), with actual home/office mix to be determined.
- Some occasional out of hours/weekend attendance at events/meetings.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and volunteers at all levels.
- Ability to produce clear documentation to be used by staff, volunteers, senior management.
- Knowledge of office administrational functions, facilities soft services (cleaning, telephony related services).
- Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills including use of MS office, particularly MS Word and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a positive and professional approach.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A high level of integrity, with experience of keeping sensitive information confidential.
- Experience of working independently and successfully as a part of a team.
- Desirable experience of charitable environments
- Desirable experience of project support or project management

We are looking for someone to run our helpline and perform general administration office duties from our Birmingham office. A large part of this role is to provide emotional support to traumatically bereaved members when required.
Candidates must have a history of providing emotional support to emontionally distressed or vulnerable people.
The Office Assistant will be accountable to the Office Co-ordinator, and they must be able to fulfil a variety of administration and digital tasks. They will also assist staff and trustees in the delivery of the charity’s projects and possess good digital and face to face communication skills.

As an Agricultural Adviser at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, you will work alongside colleagues in the team to help inspire and support farmers across the area. You will work closely with our Warwickshire Farm Cluster Groups and the partners we work with to provide advice and guidance to farmers. Helping them to integrate nature into their business, apply for the Government’s new agricultural grants, and support them to transition to a more nature friendly way of farming.

Experience level: We are recruiting two Agricultural Adviser roles and considering all levels of experience. We have the potential of offering roles at Officer (experienced), Assistant (limited experience), Trainee (entry) depending on the candidates that apply.

•Volunteers as required Other working relationships: The Trust’s agricultural advice team work with other teams across the Trust to link agricultural advice with practical action delivered by our River Catchment Restoration Team, Tame Valley Wetlands and Dunsmore Living Landscape.
Outside the organisation: We work in partnership with Warwickshire Rural Hub, other organisations and independent agricultural advisers to support farmers across the area through the Warwickshire Farm Cluster initiative.
