Gaddum are recruiting for a Project Worker to be part of the Carers Manchester Team.
Carers Manchester is a partnership of Statutory and Voluntary Sector organisations who work together the plan, enhance and deliver advice and support services for unwaged carers in the city. Through working together, the Carers Manchester Pathway is in place, which supports carers being able to access the right advice and support at the right time in their caring journey.
Gaddum plays a key role in managing the development of the Carers Manchester Pathway, in supporting a Network of Voluntary sector organisations and ensuring that the carers voice is heard in everything that we do.
Following the recent award of a new contract to deliver these services we are looking for a Project Worker to support us in developing a Respite strategy for Manchester unpaid carers and developing and Expert by Experience Carers panel which will ensure that the carers voice is heard in everything we do. Amongst the core tasks in this role will be to:

Support the creation of project management tools for these pieces of work and maintain them.

Lead on consultation activities for the Respite strategy

Support the recruitment of carers who may wish to be involved with the Expert by Experience panel
You could be the person we are looking for if you have:

Experience of supporting organisations to manage projects.

About the role:
As a Recruitment/HR Administrator, you will be joining a small dedicated Recruitment team providing an effective and efficient recruitment service to meet the organisation’s resourcing and staffing needs. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries and requests to the team; providing a high level of customer service throughout the recruitment cycle.
You will also be responsible for carrying out the administrative tasks for the recruitment and on-boarding of new staff and ensuring that our recruitment processes, continue to adhere to best practice, equality, fairness and relevant employment legislation. You will also be involved in the wider HR team's Projects on EDI and organisational changes, this will include designing and delivering training to hiring managers and wider SHP staff.

Job Description: Fellowship Programme Officer
Line Manager: Team Leader (New Fellows)
Objective: The Programme Officer provides individualised support to Fellows, facilitates placements and secures funding. The Programme Officer also contributes to project management activities.

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support to Fellows prior to and after their arrival in the UK.
- Coordinate with regional exam centres to facilitate IELTS or equivalent fee waivers for Fellows.
- Collect and interpret regional intelligence to inform Fellowship Programme advice and guidance.

- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations.

Monitoring and Evaluation

As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your role will be to support the Regional Manager so that they can manage more projects, along with supporting the Regional Manager with expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteers for the region.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.
The role will require attendance at our Community Meals projects in Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, with occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.
Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time). Through face to face and online activities, the programme supports young people in developing new skills and provides ways for them to apply these skills in action. By strengthening the surrounding ecosystem, the programme aims to create opportunities to empower youth and contribute positively to social change and bring about action, which addresses 21st century challenges. The programme delivers projects in over 25 countries as well as offering global online content.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global team facilitating the delivery of diverse projects and programmes.
As Consultant Non-Formal Education (NFE), you will support the pursuit, design, delivery and evaluation of projects and programmes across the NFE portfolio by providing high quality operational support, project and contract management, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
The content and structure of projects depends on local context and needs, supporting the development of localised approaches to global issues such as peace, disinformation, equality, youth leadership and climate change. Projects deliver learning and capacity building activities outside of formal education, broker connections between different stakeholders including governments, civil society and communities and produce insightful and innovative content in our field, such as research on young people’s views and aspirations around the world.
The role will give you an opportunity to develop your sector knowledge and expertise, business development skills (by supporting preparation of bids/proposals) and project management experience.
Responsibilities:
Tasks and responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
• Managing small to medium size projects and budgets associated with them
• Leading on online learning and events and face-to-face events in the UK
• Managing procurement and contracting of suppliers and partners
• Providing financial and project management support to the NFE programming
• Ensuring compliance with procedures and standards, such as due diligence and information management, as well as monitoring and evaluation and strengthening gender equality and social inclusion in projects and programmes
• Supporting the global team through data collection and analysis including financial and monitoring and evaluation data, from activities and events
• Supporting business development and project/programme design by undertaking background research, compiling track record and other similar tasks
• Developing marketing and communications products to showcase the NFE portfolio
• Supporting effective working of a dispersed global team including planning meetings and events, internal communications
Requirements of the role:
- Interest and/or experience (including volunteering) in international development, non-formal education, youth empowerment and skills development, civil society and related areas
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of project management (including leading on small projects/processes).
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to British Council’s approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and anti-racism.
- Experience of promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within project planning and delivery is not essential but will be advantageous
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills, including the ability to summarise and present information for different audiences

As Project Lead for APAP's Night Shelter provision you will be responsible for a caseload of clients and the wider management of the Night Shelter project.
