Senior Communications Officer

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Senior Communications Officer to join their Strategic Partnerships and Communications team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

As a Senior Communications Officer with Clean Air Fund you would help to support the Clean Air Fund’s communications and engagement with our key audiences of governments, funders, businesses, researchers, civil society organisations and campaigners. You will help proactively shape and deliver Clean Air Fund’s strategic communications activities to tackle global air pollution. You will lead our social media strategy and management to grow our digital audiences and foster deeper engagement. From delivering compelling content to executing digital campaigns to coordinating events, you’ll play a critical role in raising our profile and 
supporting the clean air movement. Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day delivery of compelling communications and developing our digital channels. You will also support our wider campaigns across all our channels including earned and paid activities.

To be successful in this role you will have 

•  Proven experience in a wide-ranging communications role in a similar sector.
•  Significant experience managing social media channels, and developing and delivering social media strategy.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing multichannel communications campaigns and plans.
• Experience managing projects and running events.
•  Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience creating and optimising a range of impactful content, from blogs and webpages to graphics and social assets.

About you

This role is based with our Wales & Southwest team, and we are looking for someone with particular experience and developed networks across this region. Our successful Enterprise Manager may previously have worked in roles such as Partnerships Manager, Development Manager, Fundraising Manager, Partnerships & Fundraising Manager, and will ideally have good knowledge and confidence in identifying and successfully bidding for project funding via government departments, regional agencies, statutory funders, and charitable trusts. Prior experience of statutory funded active travel schemes is desirable.

Programme and Projects Manager

We are seeking a Programme and Projects Manager to join a fantastic team at the only environmental charity dedicated to looking after the Aire and its tributaries.

You will join a friendly and committed team of experts passionate about improving the River Aire and the streams that feed it.

The Role

Travel across the Aire Catchment in Bradford, Craven and Leeds for events, meetings, and remote site visits may be required to support project delivery in this role, so a driver's license and access to your own vehicle are essential. Your strong financial and leadership skills will support environmental experts in improving the environmental quality, flood risk, and quality of life along the river.

Communities Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Behaviourist (Clinical Behaviour Services) to work on providing an internal referral service for behavioural medicine, recommending treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, and assisting with more complex cases as required.

What does this role involve?

As Veterinary Behaviourist you’ll:

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

About you:

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. With basic knowledge of statistical methods and ability to evaluate published research you will have enthusiasm for professional development, research and developing specialist skills in veterinary behavioural medicine.

The role of the Clinical Behaviour Services team is to provide clinical behaviour services for members of the public including adopters of Dogs Trust dogs and in association with Dog School.

About the role

You'll help develop and drive organisational strategy forward, ensuring that services are sustainable, accessible, evidence-based, inclusive and survivor-informed, as well as fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong by celebrating and investing in the team.

About you

You've got significant experience of leading, motivating and developing service delivery teams, ideally with responsibility for small - medium staff teams. Whilst you don't need direct experience in the sexual violence space, it's important to come with substantial experience with skills that are transferable (experienced in complex needs and trauma).

To provide the team with the right support, you'll also need:

• Resilience, great organisational skills and desire to put staff wellbeing and development at the heart of decision-making.
• Excellent communication and line management skills
• Well-developed finance skills, able to manage multiple complex budgets.
• Proven track record of business planning and managing a diverse range of services.
• Ability to produce written and statistical reports to a high professional standard, with an understanding and appreciation of the value of data for impact.
• Creative, curious, and flexible approach with a willingness to adapt and change priorities accordingly.

About the role

As Senior PR Manager, you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Save the Children UK amongst key target audiences, by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage. As a member of the PR, Artist & Broadcast team, you will be able to apply your experience working with the media to shape major fundraising and influencing campaigns and build our brand. Some stakeholders you will work with include high profile ambassadors, influencers, and partners. To be successful in this role you will lean on your excellent verbal and written communications skills and have a strong network of contacts to help share the work of Save the Children UK.

In this role, you will:

• Work closely with team members in other departments within Save the Children to provide excellent PR support for delivering Save the Children's objectives
• Develop and execute mass-market PR plans that amplify key strategic campaigns and initiatives across the calendar year, including brand, fundraising and advocacy priorities
• Identify and maximise opportunities to generate reactive media coverage, responding effectively to external events, news and the cultural conversation 
• Write, co-ordinate and issue media releases, statements, briefing materials and Q&As, including for high-profile spokespeople and corporate partners, if required 
• Develop and nurture close working relationships with journalists (especially those on features, women's, lifestyle, showbiz outlets) across print, digital and broadcast media - including a diverse range of outlets beyond mainstream media
• Represent Save the Children as spokesperson externally, networking and building relationships that support brand building activity in the media.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant operational experience in mass-market PR, as a print or broadcast journalist, or equivalent professional media communications experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external contacts across diverse cultures, disciplines and time zones
• Solid experience developing and implementing PR campaigns for corporate clients, including cause-related events, co-branded marketing activity, global campaigns
• Excellent working knowledge of the media landscape – including national broadcast and press, women's, showbiz, tabloid and digital media – with a network of journalistic contacts.
• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write and edit engaging copy for a range of audiences, across traditional and new mediums
• Ability to do ‘on call' rota work at weekends and out of hours

About this exciting opportunity

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

We will also rely on you to plan and chair proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, to identify and successfully bring in new funding opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, and to provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure that the giving potential of each individual funding body is maximised. Updating the Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities and supporting the Statutory Fundraising Team with other tasks, including their funding applications and proposals, are also vital elements of the role.

• Knowledge of the issues affecting our client group and the policy landscape
