About Us

The Civil Society Alliance is a new project which will empower civil society organisations , especially marginalised voices far from the Westminster, to scrutinise and influence constitutional, administrative and legal changes taking place in the UK policy landscape following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. This new Alliance will bring civil society voices together from all parts of the UK and will be a key vehicle for navigating our complex and challenging post-Brexit landscape. The post holder will be contractually employed by the Human Rights Consortium who are initiating the Civil Society Alliance as a collaborative project with the Human Rights Consortium Scotland and the Wales Civil Society Forum on Brexit, but the work and direction of the Alliance itself will be influenced and developed in close collaboration with the broad range of civil society organisations that we anticipate will form this wide alliance.

About You

We seek an experienced individual to help support the development of this new project. The post holder will provide support to the Project Manager in running the Alliance on a day-to-day basis and help carry out extensive coalition building, research, communication and advocacy work for the Alliance.

The ideal candidate will be someone with a background in working with civil society organisations to assist them in having their voices heard within key decision-making processes. Someone who has the appropriate research and policy skills to help analyse and explore the major political and legislative issues that will be of relevance to our members. A successful candidate should also be able to help maintain and develop a diverse coalition of civil society voices and ensure timely, relevant and accurate information and updates to them. The ability to maintain an active digital and social media presence and the availability of appropriate resources to our members will also be a key part of the role.
