Job Description

An organisation are looking for a Prospect Development Manager to play a key role in helping the organisation prepare for their next major fundraising campaign.

The Prospect Development Manager will be responsible for setting the strategy and leading the process to identify new prospects. You will work across teams looking at new ways to analyse the database in order to unveil new prospects and identify potential trends that allow for forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
-In consultation with key stakeholders develop and implement a prospect identification and prospect management strategy
-Working with the Director of Operations and the Database Team to develop and implement strategies to identify new prospective donors from the databases
-Responsible for building strong collaborative relationships with prospect managers in order to drive portfolio management.
-Support prospect managers in the cultivation of effective relationships with donors and prospects, primarily via quarterly prospect review meetings
-Work with the Major Gifts team to deliver an effective and fluid process for managing prospects
-Establish and manage the process for logging briefing requests for events
-Generate two way information/feedback with the fundraising teams in order to supply specialist knowledge to support the nurture of prospects and answer portfolio related queries
-Identify and conduct necessary wealth screenings
-Undertake research on individuals, corporations and charitable trusts using a variety of resources: including international news, biographical and financial databases
-Data Management including Managing the upkeep of databases and taking responsibility for the department's Prospect Management process
-Line manage two Prospect Researchers

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of prospect research working in fundraising
-Experience of managing people and projects
-Ability to proactively co-ordinate the work of a team
-Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills
-Excellent written communication skills
-Flexibility and an ability to deliver work to tight and conflicting deadlines
-Experience using databases and spreadsheets
-An interest in, and understanding of, higher education
-An interest in, and understanding of, philanthropy and fundraising
