Our client is a London based charity driven and committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Their vision is to end street homelessness and work towards this by providing high quality vital services to vulnerable people. They are currently seeking nine Assessment Workers for their new temporary Assessment Centre for rough sleepers in Newham. This is offered on a temporary basis, initially for one month.
As one of their Assessment Worker, you will provide vulnerable homeless service users, with a history of rough sleeping with an effective, high quality support service within an assessment centre context. Providing tailored support to a caseload of clients, you will conducting key working sessions to ensure they are receiving the support they require to assist them in achieving a life away from the streets. With many presenting with multiple and complex needs, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure a wrap-around service that is effective and enables services users to access and sustain secure accommodation.
To be successful, you must have experience of key working a caseload ofÂ homeless adults presenting with complex needs, conducting risk assessments, support plans and have a working knowledge of safeguarding. You must also have demonstrable experience of working with clients with substance misuse, mental health and/or homeless-related needs, or a combination of these client groups.Â Candidates must also have a good level of computer literacy and numeracy.
To be considered, you must be available to start at the end of September, be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS registered to the online update service, and be able to commit to a rolling rota of early, late and night shifts across a 7 day rota.
