Prospectus is working with an established charity that award prizes in recognition of significant advances within specific fields of science. The Assistant Administrator will successfully fulfil the role on a part-time basis of 28 hours per week and while working from home, with regular meetings in Oxfordshire and occasional travel to the Lake District and London, which will include overnight stays of up to three nights, when required.
Reporting to the Executive Secretary, you will be responsible for the organisation and logistical coordination of a range of activities and events requiring substantial administrative support. Part of the role will involve liaising with academics, organisers and participants, as well as with staff at the venue ensuring catering and travel arrangements are coordinated and that delegate packs are also collated to a high standard and within the timeframes available. There will also be the opportunity to raise awareness of the charity's work via web pages and the use of social media.
With a background in providing administrative support to a high standard you will be incredibly organised, self-motivated and able to manage your workload with minimal supervision. Practical experience of using MS Office and other standard IT packages is also required, as is the positive attitude to learn new applications and work with diverse people!
We are seeking somebody with strong interpersonal skills both verbal and written, with the confidence and ability to liaise and manage relationships with senior academics, ensuring that a high level of customer and client satisfaction is consistently delivered. The ideal candidate will also have worked within a university or within a charity environment.
