Although the first Scout uniform shop opened in 1917 Scout Store remain young at heart. Scout Store is the dedicated and official retailer for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network uniform. Putting their customers at the heart of everything they do, Scout Store aim to increase their cash contribution to the Scout Association every year to support young people developing skills for life.
Scout Store is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Scouts, a charity in its own right, and like them they understand the importance of making a difference to the lives of others. They share the same values of integrity, respect, care, belief and cooperation.
The Board of Scout Store are now seeking to recruit a new Chair to support the continued work in being the dedicated retailer for the Scout network.
The Chair will lead a motivated board and have the ability to form an effective working relationship with the General Manager of Scout Store, acting as a critical friend and taking an active part in strategic planning.
The Chair will have a wealth of senior level experience within retail, e-commerce or another business field related to Scouts Store and its ambitions, along with experience of successfully operating at board level.
