Job description

The Heart of England Forest is an exciting and ambitious charity that wants to reverse centuries of woodland decline and create and conserve a magnificent 30,000-acre broadleaf forest for the benefit of the environment, wildlife and people. A place of enduring natural beauty, protected and secured for generations to come. It’s an ambitious vision, which we’re determined to make happen, one tree at a time.

Chief Operating Officer

Dorsington (Warwickshire)/Hybrid

The Heart of England Forest is seeking to appoint our first-ever Chief Operating Officer. Having developed and grown significantly over the last four years this exciting new senior leadership role will further develop the charity’s financial, commercial, and goverance operations and procedures.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Heart of England Forest; at just 23% of the way towards our 30,000 acre goal, we are already the largest new native broadleaf woodland in England. The COO will work closely with the Chief Executive to define and develop the financial and operational strategy to ensure the successful execution of the charity’s vision.

We are seeking candidates with strong strategic experience, with a customer-centric approach. The candidate will have extensive experience of managing multidiscipline teams and significant senior level experience within a multi-faceted charity or similarly complex organisation. The role requires a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience with a strong belief in the importance of ethics, governance and internal controls. Importantly you will be committed to conservation and Heart of England Forest values and mission.

Heart of England Forest is committed to achieve greater diversity in its executive team, and welcome applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, sexuality, belief or disability.
