Chief of Staff

As they keep on building on their past successes the Scouts' ambitions are growing and by 2025 they will have prepared more young people with skills for life, supported by amazing leaders delivering an inspiring programme. They will be growing, more inclusive, shaped by young people and making a bigger impact in our communities.

The role of Chief of Staff will be a critical one to ensure that those ambitions are achieved, through the support you will offer to the Deputy Chief Executive/Chief Operating Officer to work most effectively. This is a highly strategic role coordinating and overseeing the delivery of products across the Operations and Transformation directorate. You will facilitate the achievement of organisational objectives by closely supporting the teams working within the directorate, including the Governance Team, the Legal Team, local volunteer line managers and the Personal Assistants.

Given its strategic focus, this role will require focus and attention to details, the ability to think laterally and on your feet, while showing empathy. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• experience of managing and deliver a portfolio of complex projects at the same time, with the ability to delegate when needed

• ability to work with a number of key senior stakeholders, and managed their needs and expectations in a professional and empathetic way

• ability to lead by example, inspiring your team, and managing performance effectively.

• to be comfortable working at pace and respond quickly to changing circumstances
