Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is a leading independent funder supporting exceptional organisations which are building a more inclusive, creative and sustainable society in the UK. In 2019 they gave over £35m in grants to charities and social enterprises working in the arts, children and young people, sustainable food, environment and social change. They also operate a social investment fund for organisations that can deliver a social benefit along with financial return.
We are delighted to be working with the Foundation to recruit the newly developed role of Communications Manager.
This role is a part of an ambitious new strategy to be launched later in 2020 and will be responsible for developing and delivering a communications plan to help Esmée Fairbairn to:
- support organisations with brilliant ideas who are working to secure a fairer future for the next generation and strengthen the bonds in communities in the UK, and
- work itself to remove barriers and secure progress in protecting the natural world, using Esmée's voice to quietly influence policy and effect change.
As part of the communications and learning team, this role will be the Foundation's eyes and ears, as well as its voice. The Communications Manager will work with staff, other funders and investors, and the organisation's Esmée funds using a range of communications tools and approaches in order to add value to, and support its strategy.
Esmée is looking for someone with direct experience of using communications or campaigning to make a change in the sectors it supports. It is particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have been involved in influencing local or national government policy, corporate practice or behaviour change.
