Domestic Abuse Mental Health Support Worker
Prospectus is proud to be supporting an inspiring organisation that helps individuals affected by domestic abuse by providing innovative and unique targeted services. They work to ensure that victims are supported to rebuild their lives, and that perpetrators are supported to change their behaviour. They are now searching for Domestic Abuse, Mental Health Support worker to join their team, based in West Hampshire.
In this role you will provide support, advice and assistance to women, men and their families who have experienced domestic abuse or are at risk of domestic abuse and have mental health issues/support needs. You will work to enable refuges to accept people with higher mental health support needs and provide direct support sessions to victims in the community to reduce the demand for refuge accommodation. You will work with different agencies and will increase expertise across the organisation around mental health needs, raising standards, creating pathways of support, and strengthening support networks for those with multiple and complex needs.
To be considered you will have experience of working with individuals that have complex needs including mental health as well as those that are ‘high risk’. You will have experience of working with and advocating for individuals and families and have knowledge of developing new services for individuals and families. You will have an understanding and awareness of the needs of women, men and children of all ages who have experienced domestic abuse and understand the complexities of partnership working.
Please note this is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, and you will be required to work on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) will also be required for this role. Due to the nature of the role, you are required to hold a clean driving license and have access to a vehicle. You will also be required to participate in the on-call out of hours service rota, a 24-hour, 7 day a week service running outside of usual service hours.
