Greater London
£30,000 - £32,000 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

The Henry Smith Charity is one of the largest grant making foundations in the UK, distributing close to £40m of grants in 2020. We aim to bring about lasting change to people's lives, helping them to benefit from and contribute to society. We achieve this by funding organisations that work with people to reduce social and economic disadvantage.
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Grants Coordinator to join the Grants Operations team. The post holder will ensure the efficient and accurate day to day running of our main grants process and work with the team to deliver our smaller grants programmes. They will work on all stages of the grant application process, coordinate our grant making and provide the wider team with operational support.
The successful candidate will be an analytical and creative problem solver with a keen eye for detail. They will have previous experience working within a similar role supporting a team and will demonstrate a keenness to learn. They will be a strong communicator with the ability to adapt their approach for a range of different stakeholders.
This role is an excellent opportunity to further develop existing grant making experience or to learn more about grant making, with an overview of the whole grant making process.
The Henry Smith Charity offers a range of generous benefits including 24 days (rising to 26 days after two years completed) annual leave, company pension scheme, health insurance, paid volunteering days, access to a free Empathy helpline, travel ticket loan and cycle to work scheme. We are currently trialling a new approach to flexible working, however regular attendance at our central London office will still be required.
At The Henry Smith Charity we highly value the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion and view them as central to our successes in grant making, helping individuals and communities to thrive. We welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experience including people with disabilities, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTQI+ and individuals from different socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
Please let us know if you need any additional support to take part in the selection process. If your application is successful, the organisation will make reasonable adjustments to the working environment to enable you to fulfil the role.
To find out more about this role, please apply with a Word format version of your CV; cover letters are not required at this stage. A full job description will be provided to candidates shortlisted by Prospectus.
Interviews will be held on the 11th and 12th November, in person, at The Henry Smith Charity offices.
