Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be working with a leading UK & International Grant-making Foundation to recruit a Grants Manager to join its small but established team.

The Foundation is one of four independent grant-making Foundations proudly supported by a well-known international business.

The Foundation’s grant-making focuses on strengthening the capacity of non-profit organisations to enhance their impact, effectiveness and/or sustainability so they can thrive and fulfil their charitable goals. Organisations supported by the Foundation are active in the following fields: education and employability of children and young people, tackling disadvantage, health and well-being, and arts culture and heritage. Priority countries for the Foundation’s grant-making include: France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Republic of Ireland. This is an exciting time to be joining the Foundation as it continues to grow and develop its strategic grant-making across Europe.

The role:

The post of Grants Manager will play a critical role in developing and managing a strategic portfolio of grants, working closely with, and reporting, to the Head of Europe Programmes. The post-holder will also interact regularly with colleagues working across the UK and Asia Pacific Foundations. In addition to informing strategy, the role will involve: pro-actively developing a pipeline of grants; undertaking due diligence on non-profit organisations and analysing their capacity building needs; writing clear and concise proposals for Trustee consideration, and monitoring progress and learning from grants made.

The person:

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working within the non-profit/philanthropic sectors in at least one of the following countries: France, Germany and/or Spain. You will have in-depth knowledge and expertise of non-profit organisations tackling disadvantage in areas such as education, employment and health, with a demonstrable track record in grant-making.  You will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and will have excellent written and spoken English as well as being fluent in either French, German and/or Spanish. Finally, you will have a high degree of humility and a collaborative style and will be able to pro-actively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.
