Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with the Khulisa to help appoint a new Head of Trusts.

Khulisa (meaning 'to nurture' in Zulu) is an award-winning national charity who works with young people aged 11-25 whose lives have been affected by trauma or adversity. A child who has had four or more traumatic experiences is 20 times more likely to be imprisoned at some point in their lifetime and 32 times more likely to be labelled with a learning or behaviour problem. Khulisa calls this the “trauma gap” and works to close this gap by targeting young people and increasing their social and emotional skills.

With delivery hubs in London, Manchester and Birmingham they have a skilled team of therapists who deliver intensive, therapeutic programmes for small groups of young people in prisons, schools and pupil referral units (PRUs). They also train professionals, parents and carers in how to create nurturing, trauma-informed environments for young people.

As Khulisa enters a new strategic period the Head of Trusts will be instrumental to the organisations continued growth and success. Operating at a high strategic level the core purpose of the role will be to secure funding from trusts and foundations, LA grants and commissioning, and to build a sustainable, diverse pipeline.

Khulisa are looking for a seasoned fundraiser to join their flourishing and supportive organisation who has a track record of successfully building and managing a portfolio of major trust and grant funders up to six figures. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience of successfully generating new business and of closing multi-year bids on values over £30,000.
