Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting National Philanthropic Trust UK as they look to appoint a new Head of UK Grantmaking. This is a vital position in a small, but growing, team supporting donors to increase philanthropic giving across the world.

NPT UK is driven to make philanthropy more convenient and efficient for donors. They offer donor-advised fund (DAF) giving vehicles to individuals, family offices, and wealth managers. A donor-advised fund is a philanthropic fund established under an umbrella charity, like NPT UK or NPT Transatlantic, that administers the fund on behalf of the donor. A DAF allows donors to make charitable contributions, receive immediate tax benefits, and then recommend grants from the fund over time. NPT Transatlantic also offers a US/UK dual qualified single gift (designated fund) service for transatlantic donors. NPT UK is affiliated with National Philanthropic Trust, one of the largest providers of donor-advised funds in the United States.

As the Head of UK Grantmaking, you will responsible for managing all aspects of grantmaking for NPT UK and NPT Transatlantic, including assuring that grant recommendations are processed in a timely manner, determining appropriate compliance, overseeing the process from initial recommendation through approval and payment of grants, communicating as needed with donors and grantee organisations, and assuring that grant processes and payments are always in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. You will be working with donors on the best solutions for them to give efficiently and effectively to causes they are passionate about.

The successful candidate will be engaged by the potential of philanthropy and able to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly. You will have significant experience within the UK charitable sector, ideally with excellent understanding of grantmaking processes and compliance. You will have excellent attention to detail and be driven by offering excellent customer service. Finally, you will be self-motivated yet comfortable working in a team environment, and you will and have strong stakeholder management skills, showing tact and professionalism within your work.

Prospectus welcomes candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds. Please let us know if we can help you with the application process in any way. We are more than happy to make any reasonable adjustments to enable all interested candidates to apply.

If you are interested in applying for this Head of UK Grantmaking position, please submit your CV in the first instance. If your experience is suitable, we will send you the full job description and will arrange for a call and/or meeting to brief you on the role. You'll then have all the information you need to formally apply. We are looking forward to connecting with you soon.
